And she knew no one here could harm her.
The man's smile faltered slightly. Then returned.
"You might want to think before you say that," he muttered.
Ivy raised her hand. Snap.
A sharp sound echoed.
"I'll give you five minutes," she said coldly. "Explain everything clearly… or I will personally remove you from this base."
Her voice held no hesitation.
The man paused. Then, he chuckled.
"Fine."
He adjusted his posture and spoke.
"This land… was a gift from my father. On my birthday."
His tone grew slower.
"Legally… it should have been transferred to my name."
His eyes darkened. "But the apocalypse happened."
A faint pause. "The paperwork was never completed."
He inhaled slowly, as if steadying himself, then continued.
"I owned half of the land," he said, his voice tight. "But the other half… required additional documentation. I had to wait."
His jaw clenched.
"Who would've thought… my father would sell all of it."
