Chapter 81 - Climax

The yeti's marched on forward towards Fort Fjord with the ground shaking and groaning with every step. Piles of snow started to get disturbed and the footprints were deeply engraved into the ground. They all walked in a barbaric fashion with no sense of order, yet the leader of Yeti's walked in front of them all with a black scar on his eye and his iconic fur coat that strikes fear into enemies hearts.

The yetis reached near the three kilometer of Fort Fjord after two hours of the Veiled Village taking over Fort Fjord. Alicia Paland was currently still travelling to the Frozen Everglades and Hiroshi Yamamoto was currently riding the last living Wymtiger of the pack that he had hunted to the Fort. There were patrolling soldiers that were sent out to fortify and solidify the control over the fort further. These were a mix of brutes, archers, and trappers as they were organised in a neat fashion with teams that had perfect chemistry.

The raid was going smoothly. Too smooth in fact.

"Look, sir, there is a patrolling army of humans," said a Yeti to the King in the Yeti language.

"Then…Let's feast shall we now?" asked the King of Yetis.

He unsheathed his giant ax from the large sachet that was attached to his back as a glimpse of his battleworn back filled with scars was revealed. Then he cleaned it with his own fur and called upon the Yeti that pointed the human patrol out.

"Take this ax. Go kill them all now," said the King of Yetis with no hesitation.

The yeti stared at the King before looking at the human patrol before hesitantly taking the ax from the rough scaly fingers that were burnt and covered by patches of fur of the King of Yetis.

He took time to get used to the ax's weight and then he slowly walked towards the patrol. Meanwhile the human patrollers were unaware of what was happening and they let their guard down. The yeti walked and eventually reached behind the patrollers, who started to panic as they saw the sun dim and soon get eradicated from the sky covering their surroundings in a shadow. This was due to the yeti blocking the sun with his body.

Then he swung his axe, lifting the leather helm high as the humans started to scatter and then as he was about to unleash his attack he was stopped by the King of Yetis himself. Then a head started to roll on the floor. It was a giant head and the amount of blood that had spilled could fill a swimming pool. It tainted the snow into a dark red color.

"He couldn't kill them properly anyway, he hesitated before taking my ax and he is probably too weak," said the King of Yetis.

He paused to wipe and taste the blood that had spilled before continuing.

"This is my axe! Lavenus's ax. If you hesitate to kill with this then you aren't worthy to be in my army," said Lavenus.

Lavenus turned around to see the expressions of his army before smiling to himself. Then he shrunk down to human size as he looked around the surroundings. His body was the same, the only difference was that he had a human height and proportions.

He walked towards the human patrollers who were ready to fight and laughed. He lent his arm out to one patroller who fell down on the ground in panic and nervousness.

"It'll all end soon," said Lavenus.

As the patroller grabbed the hand of Lavenus, he started to choke and turned blood red before spitting out blood and dying on the spot. The rest of the patrollers tried to escape but Lavenus quickly rushed towards them all and chopped off their heads with his bare hands with a sideways karate chop.

He left one patroller and he broke the patroller's legs as the patroller screamed in pain.

"Tell them this…I am coming…To retake my Everglades," said Lavenus in Ancient Glassacian before picking the patroller up and throwing him towards Fort Fjord.

In Fort Fjord.

"Danso!" said Leonard.

Danso got a jolt of shock as he did not expect the sudden calling. He drank some water to calm himself before continuing the conversation.

"What happened?" asked Danso.

"Come outside and see for yourself! The worst case scenario might be happening," explained Leonard as he rushed outside.

Danso followed Leonard out of the cabin that he was in as he saw a small crowd of brutes, archers, and trappers surrounding a scene. Danso made his way through the people slowly and eventually saw what made the crowd form.

A body of a patroller whose legs were broken beyond repair. Blood covered his clothes and the stink of death spread across the air of Fort Fjord once more.

"Who…What happened?" asked Danso as he looked around searching for Leonard.

"His final words were 'The yetis are coming'," said Lucia who gave Danso a napkin.

Danso used the white napkin to cover his mouth and nose as he did not enjoy the unpleasant scene. Leonard joined Danso as Cole and Auro rushed through the crowd and shoved Danso to see the poor patroller dead on the floor.

"Everyone," said a deep strong voice.

Everyone looked behind themselves to see Everlin standing there with his staff. He had a calm face but the grip on his staff spoke volumes about his anger he was containing.

"Leave and return to your jobs. Inform the family of the dead and give them compensation," ordered Everlin.

Everyone followed Everlin's orders but Lucia, Auro, Cole, Leonard, and Danso stayed behind.

"I believe I do not need to give you a special order," said Everlin, directing it towards the group.

"What will we do about this?" asked Lucia as she took a step forward.

"Prepare. As much as we can," said Everlin before leaving.

Suddenly multiple shiny crystals started to rain down on Fort Fjord as many people who were outside got cut, stabbed and wounded. It was raining shattered glass.

Danso quickly used his Red Samurai Armor as a way to block the glass and deflected some of the attacks off other people using his sword. Auro fled to a nearby hut, Lucia dodged the raining glass with her feathery feet, and Cole used his axe to block all the glass.

As the rain ended they all looked up to see the setting sun and in front of the horizon was a beautiful lady in royal Snow Kingdom armor with white hair and deep oceanic eyes. She held her exquisitely crafted staff with a tight grip on her hand and pointed it towards Fort Fjord.

Multiple archers started to fire arrows on the lady but it seemed as if the arrows reflected back and they did not even scratch her. Auro and some trappers threw some explosives but multiple ice crystals formed a wall that blocked the recoil.

"Ritualistic Magic of Mirrors:- Shattering Light," said Alicia Paland.

The crystal tip of her staff started to glow into a bright white light as it concentrated and grew dense before the attack was unleashed on Fort Fjord. Danso could feel the immense soul energy reserves from Alicia and they were on par with Everlin. Leonard in a desperate attempt to block the attack casted a spell surrounding Fort Fjord in a wintery veil but that effort was futile as the veil shattered as the attack came in contact with it.

Then they all braced for the impact of the attack.

"Alicia…Not the time for you to be throwing a tantrum," said Everlin as he quickly absorbed the attack and threw it back at Alicia.

Alicia dodged the beam of light before trapping it in one of her mirrors and the mirror retreated back into her staff. Alicia's staff was unique. It had multiple bent mirrors surrounding the upper part of the staff, the helm of it was made out of Wyrmtiger fur and the crystal orb was pure white.

"I'll deal with Alicia, the rest of you regroup and prepare for the yeti invasion!" screamed Everlin.

Everlin created a hook made of ice and swung it towards Alicia at full force, almost cutting the atmosphere itself. Alicia dodged that attack and then held the hook before shattering it and throwing it on the ground. Everlin then fled trying to drag Alicia away from Fort Fjord but she did not budge. Therefore, Everlin created multiple chains of ice and grabbed her before throwing her away from the premises of Fort Fjord.

Then he thrusted off the empty air and created an iceboard that he used to surf across the sky. He followed Alicia's falling trajectory and hit her with a rain of hail. Alicia quickly restabilized herself while falling and absorbed Everlin's attack with a mirror before teleporting behind him and attacking him with a strong mirror shard.

Everlin groaned in pain as he removed the shard and threw it away before summoning a giant avalanche using his fist and throwing it towards Alicia. She quickly dodged the attack before landing on the ground.

Everlin and Alicia faced each other on the ground as they were surrounded by the setting sun and the tall, dark green, covered by ice trees.

"This is an act of betrayal," said Alicia.

"And so? Didn't you enter our land first?" questioned Everlin.

The atmosphere grew tense around both of them as they were ready to fight at a moment's notice.

"If that's how you want to play Everlin…Then I have no regrets killing you here," said Alicia.

In Fort Fjord.

The walls started to shake as Danso felt the Earth start to crack. Something big was on the way.

Cole quickly asked his archers to survey the nearby land as they spotted multiple yetis marching towards the fort's walls. Danso took a deep breath before rushing outside the entrance of the walls alongside Lucia and Leonard.

Auro and Cole stayed back to fortify the fort and make sure it would not fall due to the upcoming invasion. Multiple rocks started to rain down as the yetis were throwing snow and boulders towards the fort. Cole quickly reinforced his arrows and destroyed them all as Auro started to create a special seal or veil around the fort.

This was their best gamble for protection, yet there was one key part that they did not calculate.

A sudden blade swished through the veil cutting it down and making the seal useless. Lightning roared as he made his entrance into the battle. Danso looked at the man who had just entered and strained his eyes. His chance for a rematch had appeared.

"Hiroshi Yamamoto joins the fray," said Hiroshi.
