Chapter 668 - Chapter 668: The Truth!

Chapter 668: The Truth!

Ace and Sabo stood off to the side, both wearing thoughtful expressions.

Luffy, meanwhile, looked completely lost.

To be honest, at this point he had no idea what Ryuunosuke and the others were even talking about.

"Big brother, didn't we come here to beat Lilith?" Luffy asked, baffled. "Why are you saying all this?"

"I'm done playing around," Ryuunosuke said calmly. "I accepted her conditions."

He lifted his gaze to Lilith.

"There's one more thing I want to know."

"The First Generation."

Lilith's eyes narrowed slightly.

"Jay?" she said immediately.

Of course she would know. The title First Generation was a name she and Adam had given him.

It had been a long time since she'd heard anyone call him that.

"Yes." Ryuunosuke smiled faintly. "Right when you were about to give your final reason, he jumped out and stopped you."

"It's obvious he doesn't want you and me cooperating."

"At the very least, he doesn't want me cooperating with you."

"There has to be a special reason, right?"

Lilith let out a bitter laugh.

"A special reason? Not really. He probably just wants me dead."

Ryuunosuke's brows tightened.

"Wants you dead?"

"Does your existence threaten him somehow?"

The more he heard, the more confused he became.

At this point, Ryuunosuke already understood one thing clearly.

Jay's ultimate goal was probably not just taking his body back.

"Threaten…" Lilith repeated, studying him. "How much do you actually know about Jay?"

"Or rather, what did he tell you?"

Ryuunosuke did not dodge the question.

He calmly recounted everything Jay had told him, every piece of information, every explanation, every claim about the past.

Lilith listened in silence. When he finished, she paused for a long moment.

"Actually, most of it is true," she said at last. "At least, everything that happened before we came into this world is true."

"That's when I met Adam. That's where it all started."

Her voice carried a trace of helplessness, because none of this had been something she could simply choose.

It had been fate, structure, nature.

It had been how she was made.

"You need to understand," Lilith continued, "my existence is essentially the same as Adam's."

"We both carried the power of a half god."

"In other words, our purpose was the same. To bring the Seed of God into a suitable world."

"Then, by borrowing that world's power, we would let the Seed hatch."

"God isn't some omniscient, omnipotent fairy tale."

"It's a higher lifeform."

"And over a long enough span of time, even higher lifeforms still face birth, aging, illness, and death."

"The cycle is simply longer than ordinary beings."

"And before dying, that God split its essence into two."

"Adam and Lilith."

"We carried the Seed of God and searched for a world suitable for rebirth."

"The world of One Piece was the world that God chose."

Originally, Lilith and Adam were each meant to handle one world.

But through a chain of unexpected circumstances, the two of them ended up together in the skies above the One Piece world.

And that created the same problem Ryuunosuke had already learned.

They could not coexist.

Inside their bodies was the full power of a god's essence.

With that kind of power present in two vessels at once, conflict was inevitable.

So the moment they arrived, the battle began.

And as their fight erupted in the sky, it attracted the attention of a third party.

Jay.

What happened next matched Jay's own story.

He went straight into outer space and joined the battle.

At that time, Jay brought the Infinite Continent out with him.

That was when the moon appeared in the sky.

And there were other people on the Infinite Continent besides Jay.

They were his relatives and friends.

Jay brought them because he feared the sea was no longer safe.

If they stayed behind, they could easily die as collateral damage.

But the Infinite Continent had a special area that could isolate the aura of battle.

That was why they came into outer space with him.

In the end, the battle concluded.

Jay was truly terrifying.

Even against Lilith and Adam, both possessing demigod level strength, Jay was not at a disadvantage.

More than that, the two of them could not break through his defenses at all.

They could not pierce his body.

They could not crack his protection.

At the time, both Adam and Lilith believed only one thing.

This world must be protected by a god.

Because aside from a god, no one should possess such power.

But Jay did not carry divine aura.

What he carried felt more like the limit of the world itself, like an existence that embodied a boundary.

Under those circumstances, the two had no choice.

They forcibly planted the Seeds of God they carried into the One Piece world.

One used all their power to create the Calm Belt.

The other created the Red Line.

The purpose of both was the same.

To seal the Seed of God.

That way, no one, no matter who they were, could steal it in a short period of time.

That was where the real problem began.

The portion of the Seed of God that belonged to Adam was taken by Jay.

And after using the Seed of God, Jay became violently unstable.

The entire population of the Infinite Continent was wiped out by Jay.

Lilith finished recounting the truth, and the air around the stone platform turned heavy.

Ryuunosuke's expression did not change, but inside, the puzzle pieces were snapping together.

If Lilith's version was true, then she really did have survival instinct.

And the right to cling to it.

Now that she had lost the Seed of God and the power tied to it, she was no longer what she used to be.

She had become a perfect tool.

A perfect weapon.

That was also why her projection was being affected by human emotions.

But now the biggest issue had shifted.

Jay.

What exactly was he trying to do?

"Ace…"

A voice suddenly reached everyone's ears.

Familiar.

Instantly, all three of them reacted.

"Roger?!"

"One Piece?!"

"Ace's father?"

Only Ace did not move.

He froze in place, as if his body refused to accept what his ears had just heard.

It was worth remembering something.

Ace never had a good impression of his father.

Especially after learning his identity, and what his mother had endured to ensure he could be born safely.

In the end, she had been forced to carry him far past the limit.

If not for that, she would not have died.

And because of that identity, Ace had been labeled the son of evil since childhood.

It left scars no one could see.

If he did not have that background, why would Garp have insisted so hard that he join the Marines?

Ace suspected he might not have even refused.

Ace's eyes were cold as he stared at the man in front of him.

Without a shred of warmth, he spoke.

"What are you doing here?"
