"No," Claire shook her head. "Alvin, you saw it yourself. I already have two children with Gilbert Watson. I can't give you my whole heart. It wouldn't be fair to you. Even if your grandfather approved, I still couldn't accept you. Go back."
With that, she turned and walked inside.
"Claire…" Alvin's voice trembled with pain, but she didn't look back, heading straight into her office.
Lisa watched her with regret. "Ms Miler, you really turned Mr. Nelson down so firmly. It breaks my heart just watching. He loves you so deeply."
Claire's gaze remained calm. "There's no fate between us."
Lisa's eyes reddened. "Then what does it mean to have fate? Is it like what you have with Mr. Watson?"
The past few days, photos of Claire and Gilbert being affectionate had been all over the tabloids. Lisa thought she finally understood.
"I need some quiet. Please step out and see Mr. Nelson off for me." Claire waved her hand weakly and sank into her chair.
