Clang! Clang! Clang!
Sasuke and Killer B clashed.
Sasuke's White Fang-ryū (White Fang Sword Style) had grown more and more refined, already forming his own signature edge—by now he was hardly inferior to the famed White Fang of Konoha back then.
But Killer B's seven-sword style was no slouch either. Seven blades spun in his hands like toys, a blur dazzling to the eye.
Sasuke opened the three-tomoe Sharingan (Copy Wheel Eye), locking onto Killer B and the seven flashing blades. Yet "dazzling" meant exactly this— the clearer he saw, the more the seven interweaving trajectories messed with his sightlines.
Sure enough, it didn't take long before Sasuke exposed an opening and was booted away by a sword strike from Killer B.
Fortunately, he wasn't hurt. One twist, a steady landing, then a Shunshin (Body Flicker) straight in Killer B's face—Kusanagi no Tsurugi (Kusanagi Sword) extending toward B's forehead.
Killer B was surprised, but even more excited.
He realized he had underestimated this Uchiha kid. Who'd have thought someone so young would be this strong?
But the great Killer B doesn't lose to kids!
He knocked Kusanagi aside. The seven thin swords whirled before his eyes, too fast for ordinary vision to follow, impossible to tell which blade would strike next.
He knew the Sharingan (Copy Wheel Eye) could read movements, so he leveraged that very fact.
Five blades suddenly arced into the air. Sasuke's Sharingan moved up on reflex.
But Killer B lunged in with the remaining two blades, both wreathed in lightning. The attack came blindingly fast.
Sasuke's reaction wasn't lacking—he reversed his grip, caught the strike on his own blade. Lightning chakra crackled along his edge as well, and the two locked in a shuddering bind.
This technique of B's was the Chōon Shindō Raiton-tō (Super-Sonic Vibrating Lightning Release Blade): by channeling lightning-nature chakra into the blade to induce high-frequency vibrations, the sword gained frightening penetration. If Sasuke had been using a common blade, it would likely have snapped already.
Sasuke's approach was similar—he poured Chidori (One Thousand Birds) Lightning Release into the blade, ramping up its cutting power.
And he was wielding Kusanagi no Tsurugi (Kusanagi Sword). Not a small advantage.
An instant later—crack!—a hairline fracture split across Killer B's thin sword. B arched a brow, understanding that this youngster's Lightning Release wasn't far behind his own.
He let go without hesitation, abandoning the damaged sword, snatched several blades dropping from above, and pressed the attack again.
Sasuke didn't flinch. With every exchange, his White Fang-ryū (White Fang Sword Style) burned hotter. The two actually went without a decision for quite a while.
A short distance away, Natsuki was happily shelling sunflower seeds, thoroughly entertained. He hadn't realized it until now, but Sasuke had grown this far already—rare and impressive.
Eventually, they both had their fill of pure swordplay. Cloaks of Bijū Chakra (Tailed Beast Chakra) flared up around them, and the collision turned feral.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The racket was anything but small.
They were still neck and neck for a while, but Sasuke was clearly slipping behind.
In terms of leveraging Bijū Chakra (Tailed Beast Chakra), Killer B naturally had the edge. If not for Sasuke pairing with his Sharingan (Copy Wheel Eye), he would have lost already.
Sasuke had no intention of losing. He transformed into the Three-Tails—his first time unveiling a kanzen jinchūriki (Perfect Jinchūriki) form.
Killer B got even more hyped and likewise shifted into his perfect Eight-Tails form.
A giant turtle and a giant octopus slammed into each other again and again. They didn't launch a Bijūdama (Tailed Beast Bomb), but the brawl was spectacular enough. The noise finally drew in Cloud shinobi—Raikage A and Darui, no less.
Natsuki waved with a grin. "Yo! Raikage, Darui—I found Killer B for you. Happy?"
A shot Natsuki a glare, unconvinced. Pointing at the turtle, he barked, "Why is the Three-Tails' jinchūriki here—fighting B, no less? You'd better give me an explanation!"
Natsuki shrugged. "Sasuke and I were touring the Land of Abundance and ran into Killer B. B said his aniki totally doesn't get rap, completely behind the times—a stubborn old fossil. He got angrier the more he talked, so to vent he started a fight with us, and Sasuke had no choice but to step in."
Heh—like we'd believe that! You Konoha brat are way too slick!
A and Darui both wore unfriendly looks. Obviously, they didn't buy it.
Especially A—he could hear Natsuki doing it on purpose. Did Natsuki think he didn't know his own little brother? No matter how disgruntled B might be, he wouldn't jab at his aniki like that to his face.
And B's rap level was… well, "that." How did that mean his aniki was "behind the times"?
Still, seeing his brother safe made A let out a long breath of relief.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The two titans kept crashing together. The collateral shockwaves spread far. Luckily, this was well away from human settlements, or the damage and casualties would've been nasty.
Sasuke was still on the back foot. It was his first time in a full tailed-beast form, and he wasn't yet comfortable with the speed and power control, inferior to Killer B's mastery. Fortunately, besides the Bijūdama (Tailed Beast Bomb), the Three-Tails could also unleash Suiton (Water Release) attacks—that gave him an edge over the Eight-Tails in some exchanges.
The Bijūdama was powerful, but it carried massive collateral and heavy cost—nobody fired those casually.
The Eight-Tails could spit ink as well, which made life rough for the Three-Tails.
They traded for quite a while until A finally had enough. He bulldozed between them and forced the fight to a stop.
"B! You brat, you tricked me!"
A roared, "You used Kawarimi (Substitution) to fool Kabuto—and even fooled your aniki! You were fine the whole time, but you neither told me nor stayed put and even snuck out. You looking for a beating?!"
Killer B dropped back to his body without a word.
He knew his aniki worried. But being cooped up in the Valley of Clouds and Lightning was really boring. He just wanted to slip out for a little air and would be back soon. And with his strength, he wasn't afraid of being captured by anyone—nothing to worry about.
He couldn't say that, though. Or his aniki would tear into him.
B pointed at Sasuke instead. "Aniki, look at Konoha—they let the Three-Tails' jinchūriki stroll out openly without fear. Our Kumogakure is stronger than Konoha, so why won't you let me go out?"
"You don't know jack!"
A kept scolding. "The Three-Tails' jinchūriki has Natsuki—the Hiraishin (Flying Thunder God) brat—at his side. If there's danger, they blink out. You sneaking around alone—how is that the same?"
That shut B up.
But he could always change the subject.
He jabbed a finger at Natsuki. "Aniki, this guy knows Hiraishin (Flying Thunder God)! Back then we never settled it with Namikaze Minato. Today we wash that shame clean! We'll prove our Raiton Chakra Mōdo (Lightning Release Chakra Mode) outstrips the Hiraishin!"
A's heart stirred—he still remembered.
Minato was gone, but Natsuki was right here. Raiton Chakra Mōdo (Lightning Release Chakra Mode) defeating Hiraishin (Flying Thunder God)—that victory was a must!
Natsuki wasn't scared. He even needled him. "Hey, hey, hey! Raikage-ojisan! Did you forget I flattened you with my Rariatto (Lariat) already?"
