Chapter 270 - Chapter 269: What Could Possibly Go Wrong?

"Phew! That practical evaluation finally ended. Now, I only need to pass the Anti-Army combat evaluation with flying colors, and I will be an official Chunin of Konoha."

"No more dull classes, only action."

Sarutobi Yuto vented as he walked out of the Ninja Academy with his friends after the Anti-Personnel combat evaluation ended.

After Seimei defeated Hino Aikawa, the remaining students in the training ground, including Yuto and Reina, had also gone through their own combat tests.

The entire process took nearly three more hours, during which none of the participating students were allowed to leave the training ground.

According to Iori Nanako, the head of the Anti-Personnel Combat Division, they needed to see more combat to sharpen their minds, improve their combat instincts, and gain a broader understanding of tactics to avoid being the unlucky one to get killed.

To prove this point and make the students more vigilant, Nanako ordered the official ninjas to test the students to put more pressure on them.

And the official ninjas, hearing that request, agreed without hesitation.

They became even more ruthless, determined to teach the students about the cruelty of the world. So, most students were beaten black and blue by them, including Yuto, who now had a glorious panda eye.

Of course, Yuto and most students had suffered far greater injuries, including multiple lacerations, bruises, and blunt damage. However, the medical ninjas stationed at the back of the training ground acted quickly and treated most of their injuries.

Thanks to that and the natural recovery capability of a Shinobi's physique, even the most severely injured students would now only need one day at most to recover.

Anyway, Yuto's panda eye would also heal in one day. But for now, it looked rather funny.

Haneda, who was walking beside Yuto, turned his head to look at him.

He looked at Yuto's disheveled clothes and then at his cartoonish panda eye before chuckling maliciously.

Seeing that, Yuto's face turned stormy. A few imaginary black lines couldn't help but appear on his forehead.

But before Yuto could say anything, Haneda opened his mouth.

"Heh heh, more actions, you say?"

"Yuto, my friend, don't involve yourself in too much action. If things turn too exciting, you may just end up getting killed yourself."

"That one time I went to an academy mission, you almost fought an entire horde of chakra beasts. If I hadn't grabbed you and escaped quickly enough, you would have already turned into those beasts' poop."

"The grass in your grave would have been several feet long by now."

"With your tendency to stir up unnecessary, completely avoidable, and deadly troubles, it's truly a miracle that you are still alive and kicking."

Hearing this, Seimei and Reina halted their steps. They looked at each other and then shifted their gazes to Yuto, looking at him with strange, indescribable expressions.

Yuto felt a wave of embarrassment under their collective gazes and shifted his body uncomfortably.

Damn it, it's too embarrassing. I almost want to dig a hole and bury myself.

And Haneda, you bastard, wasn't that supposed to be our secret? Do you really need to reveal my dark history like that?

Yuto looked at Haneda angrily.

Haneda seemed to understand what was going on inside his friend's head and shrugged his shoulders.

He said nonchalantly, "Buddy, no need to look at me like that. I am doing this for your own good. If the embarrassment you are feeling now makes you more cautious, it may save your life someday."

At those words, Yuto suddenly fell silent.

He didn't argue anymore and simply nodded, "I am not a child anymore. Nor am I stupid. I have survived all sorts of disasters till now, and I will continue to survive. I am not that easy to kill."

Sensing the atmosphere becoming a bit heavy, Seimei chimed in, "Forget about it. Just be happy that we get to go to our homes to chill now."

"The next practical evaluation is still three days away. It's better to prepare early. This is especially true for you, Yuto. After all, the practical evaluation content for the Anti-Army division has always been full of surprises. And it won't be any different this time, either."

Haneda shook his head and said, "No, Seimei. It's we who need to prepare carefully. We don't know what kind of chakra beasts we will be facing."

"What if they send a demon-type Chakra Beast with lightning affinity our way?"

Seimei fell into deep thought for a second before looking up and replying, "Well, then…we just kill it? Isn't it easy?"

Haneda and Yuto rolled their eyes and thought with a hint of annoyance: Easy, my ass! You monstrous bastard.

Then they looked at Reina and cursed inwardly again: This girl is the same, too. These two are becoming increasingly outrageous.

Meanwhile, Reina, oblivious to the thoughts of Haneda and Yuto, agreed with Seimei and added, "Seimei is right. There is nothing to prepare. We will just go out, hunt a chakra beast, and come back."

"The examiners always select Chakra Beast that we can actually defeat if we give our best. Not to mention, each team will have a teacher assigned to them."

"With all these considerations, what can possibly go wrong?"

The moment Seimei heard the last sentence, he suddenly felt a strange sense of deja vu. A slight chill couldn't help but run down his spine.

His head snapped at her.

Oh no, Reina. Don't raise flags.

Seimei thought in alarm. But after a few moments, he calmed down.

Hmm? On second thought, maybe I am being too sensitive. Those death flags and stuff are just tropes from anime and webnovels. They are tools authors use to create suspense. Such things don't exist in real life.

Let's not be superstitious.

It's just a simple trip to the wild to hunt chakra beasts. With our strengths, the probability of something going wrong is pretty much non-existent.

Still, there's nothing wrong with being a little extra vigilant.

Seimei mused before nodding his head, "Yeah. Let's go home to get some rest. We can meet up later today or train on our own. If anything comes up, send a shadow clone to my home."

Reina said, "Hmm, true. Anyway, the last three hours were pretty boring. It's better to go home early. And Seimei, I will come to your home to play tomorrow."

Hearing this, Seimei's lips couldn't help but twitch, thinking of the thousands of years-long history of conflicts between Senju and Uchiha.

Sometimes, I wonder whether the corpses of the ancestors of the Senju and Uchiha clans would roll up from their graves if they knew the current situation between our clans.

Here I am, casually bringing a Uchiha girl to the Senju compound, while our ancestors were literally after each other's lives.

Hmm? But I am not a descendant of the Senju clan, whether biologically or psychologically, so it doesn't count.

Even if I were one, it wouldn't matter. After all, we are all comrades now.

Although my father still shouts "Damn Uchiha" sometimes, and he has several Uchiha clan secret techniques, which he obtained through literal robbery, everything else is fine.

Besides, there are already several marriage alliances between the Uchiha, Senju, and Uzumaki clans. Reina's mother, a Senju clan ninja with half Uzumaki blood, married a Uchiha.

Then his thoughts shifted again.

But Reina, what do you mean by "the last three hours were pretty boring"?

Weren't you grinning like a madwoman as you watched the students and the official ninjas beating each other up with glee? You were even eating snacks while watching them fight.

Plus, you literally thrashed the official Konoha ninja who was assigned to battle you.

Aren't those exciting enough?

Sigh~!!

Miss, you are still young, yet you are so violent.

In that regard, she is somehow similar to Aunt Mito. Fortunately, as a Uchiha, she doesn't have Adamantine Sealing Chains.

Seimei thought impudently. As for why Seimei was relieved that Uchiha Reina didn't have Adamantine Sealing Chains…

Cough! Don't ask him that. He won't say it.

Seimei thought about all of those things within less than a second and quickly pushed them to the back of his mind.

He looked at Reina and nodded, "No problem, Reina. You are welcome to my home at any time. In fact, both little Tsuna and Aunt Mito like you. They wanted to see you again."

Reina tilted her head and smiled mischievously at Seimei. "Oh, only they wanted to see me? You don't want to see me in your home?"

Seimei: …

No matter how he looked at it, this was definitely a trap question. No matter how he answered it, he would be at a disadvantage, giving Reina the leeway to tease him even more.

Meanwhile, Haneda and Yuto blankly looked at Seimei and Reina.

Haneda and Yuto: →_→

Haneda and Yuto: ━━( ̄ー ̄*|||━━

Haneda and Yuto: We are tired of this indirect flirting. Why don't you both just get together already?

Still, Seimei, not wanting to fall for the trap question, swiftly changed the topic.

He looked at Haneda and asked, "Anyway, Haneda. Did you think who you would like to team up with for the upcoming Anti-Monster Combat Evaluation?"
