Darcy Campbell felt a lump in her throat while her hands balled into fists.
"Mrs. Yancey, this is the last time I'm going to repeat myself. This is also the last chance for you to accept my condition. If you choose to let Mr. Bruce check first, my offer will no longer be valid. It all depends on your choice, Mrs. Yancey. After all, Old Mrs. Yancey's health is the most important, isn't it?"
After taking a pause, she continued, "Or could it be that you're scheming something? Do you wish death upon Old Mrs. Yancey so that you can take over the family sooner?"
