"Zoey, you're my..." Right before Agnes could spill the secret, Gabriel pulled her back and stopped her.
He quickly apologized, "Forgive us, Zoey. Agnes is acting like this because she's feeling too guilty. We'll leave now. Take care."
Gabriel then immediately left the room with Agnes.
When they arrived at a secluded corner, Agnes pushed Gabriel's hand away and glared at him angrily.
"Calm down, Darling. Did you really think she would forgive you if you told her that she's your daughter? I know how you feel, but-"
"Don't you want to be reunited with Zoey?" Agnes could feel her blood boiling.
She would give him hell if he dared to say no.
Agnes was filled with anguish and guilt. She couldn't forgive herself for raising Jeanette like a princess while leaving Zoey to suffer so much pain outside.
Additionally, Jeanette had caused so much pain to Zoey that Agnes could not openly reunite with her.
