The entire table was silent.
Until a question in low voice broke the silence.
"Julian, do you mean that we family are outsiders?"
Sally asked coldly with a straight face without looking at Julian.
Though low, it was enough for the people at the table to hear clearly.
Everyone raised their eyebrows and waited for another good play.
Sophie sneered without being noticed.
"Family? This word was used really well."
Brittany frowned out of displeasure.
"Why couldn't they let me eat quietly?"
"I insisted Julian should not say it. It was my fault. I thought that I should keep my pregnancy a secret for the first three months. If not, I would lose my child. After all, this is my first child."
Margaret frowned, looking aggrieved.
Her hand pinched Julian's thigh secretly under the table.
"Look, it's all caused by your family."
"Margaret is really careful."
Sally sneered disdainfully.
Anyway, her daughter was sent abroad now and her husband was out for a mistress all year round.
