Crimson Inferno had an Infused Center. The raw strength of his Energy was powerful enough to burn Kyle's body just by being in its vicinity. If such a focused ball hit his face directly, he wouldn't be able to survive.
The hammer was nowhere close to Kyle's head, which meant it couldn't block the attack.
Even if Kyle summoned a second hammer between himself and the attack, the attack's force would just shoot the hammer into Kyle's face, beheading him.
Laws? Kyle could summon some Minor Metal, Minor Fire, or Minor Wind, but that would be like throwing a bucket of water onto a burning house.
Kyle's Law of Meteor wasn't available since it was currently Infused, and even if it were available, it would be akin to throwing a bathtub of water onto a burning house. It wouldn't make a noticeable difference.
