Kyle went to the Law Well for the Law of Minor Light. He already knew the Laws of Yin-Light and Yang-Light, which was why he knew that the Law of Minor Light wouldn't come to him as easily as the others.
Light and Darkness worked differently from the other Elemental Laws. While Light and Darkness also existed in a physical sense, their physical representation was just a tiny part of their concepts. They truly showed their power when interacting with the other Elements.
They mostly worked by changing the properties of other Elements. They reduced and added mass, and in the later levels, they could even change the intensity of Energy. In a way, one could say that they were more fundamental than the other Elemental Laws.
The Law Well for the Law of Minor Light was far bigger than the other ones. The number of exhibitions was several times higher since the Law Well also showed how Light interacted with every other Element.
