Chapter 455 - Becoming King

The aura of life had never been so intense.

Guided by Frieren and Ranni, the power of revival was sown far and wide through the Order of the Stars, spreading across the Lands Between and sprouting new life.

They felt their consciousness travel with the Order to the other shore, crossing mountains, rivers, and seas; crossing spring, summer, autumn, and winter; crossing the nine heavens and the abyss. There was nowhere it did not reach, allowing the absolute will of the Order to penetrate into all phenomena.

Hum!

Finally, a massive Dark Moon hung upside down on the horizon, while the Erdtree gradually dimmed.

It did not completely disappear; it simply no longer manifested the imagery that filled the heavens and earth due to the blessing of the Order, making way for the symbols of the new Order.

The bright moon shone, yet it did not obscure the solar disk.

Rather, it specifically yielded a portion of the function of illumination to the sun, which had once been obscured by the Erdtree. The warm, bright atmosphere made Frieren reveal a smile as she murmured:

"I'm still used to a normal sun. Let's go with this for now."

"As long as you like it. The symbols do not matter to me; the key is the stability of the Order."

Ranni felt that it had gone very smoothly. In fact, a significant portion of the Order's sublimation and the hoisting of the symbols had been completed by Frieren. Her Majesty's power was strong enough to share the authority of a God.

This was good.

They were not the type to care about power; letting the new Order flourish was what mattered.

When the symbol of the Dark Moon in the sky was completely finalized, a curtain of starry sky seemingly fell to cover the two masters. This was the first Grace of the new dynasty, given back to Frieren and Ranni.

The people outside could not see clearly, but they were ecstatic.

The final step was about to be completed.

When Grace returns to the God and Lord after a cycle of circulation, it is equivalent to a successful operation. Once the test is problem-free, the rules will be formally embedded into the world.

"I will leave the Elden Ring to you for now. It should be kept by the God; you are the one who understands the operation of the Order."

"The worlds Your Majesty cares about also need it, right?" Ranni looked straight into the silver-haired girl's eyes and said, "Surely you don't intend to accomplish it solely by yourself? It is safer to bring the Elden Ring along. Besides, the Lands Between does not need it to be present at all times; having the Order is enough."

What truly engraved the world was the specific adjustment of the Order of the Stars and the will of the God herself. The Ring was more like an amplifier; it didn't matter if it wasn't there for a little while.

Moreover, for two people who trusted each other completely, whose hand it was in didn't equate to control.

"Procedurally speaking, it is a God's belonging, after all."

"Even I am yours."

The blue-haired doll tightly embraced Frieren's body. After the exhausting battle just now, true feelings were flowing freely at this moment.

She boldly closed her eyes and stood on her tiptoes. Seeing this, the silver-haired girl touched her forehead against hers. Their pretty faces crisscrossed, leaving a gentle sensation on their lips. It was somewhat cool, but also tender.

When they separated, Frieren had already taken the complete Elden Ring.

She indeed needed to take it on a trip. Reality was about to welcome the Northern War, and it was best to head there in a state where different powers were completely fused.

Although Frieren had already completed this step, her body had not yet thoroughly stabilized. It was safest to let the Elden Ring help regulate it.

Whoosh!

The sky curtain of the Dark Moon's Grace dispersed, revealing the God and Lord holding hands, paying their respects together.

"Praise the great, brand-new dynasty!"

Witnessing the tacit understanding between the two, everyone understood that the great work was accomplished, and immediately issued loud congratulations. It was not only for the people at the center of the stage but also an emotional sigh for their own fate; they had finally survived the grandest war.

Their hearts were full of pride, feeling honored to be part of it. It was great to be alive to witness this; the hardships of this battle were not in vain.

Melina suggested, "Strike while the iron is hot and announce the ascension to the throne now. The formal coronation ceremony can be saved for later. We should confirm the situation now; everyone needs an affirmative answer."

"Isn't the tradition of the Lands Between to hold a grand and extravagant event?"

Frieren was somewhat surprised. According to the kingdoms she knew, every transfer of political power involved celebrations lasting several days, and the tedious steps were even more headache-inducing.

"The tradition of claiming the title of King comes from Godfrey, and His Majesty said: no need for red tape."

"That is indeed his style."

On the other side, Ranni also expressed her approval. She spread out her perception and found that all the familiar faces had arrived. Thinking about it carefully, holding a coronation later might not necessarily have so many people present. Declaring it at the scene of victory also had a certain charm.

Thus, she immediately issued the order to assemble. As soon as these words came out, the Royal Capital was filled with jubilation.

Facts proved that the people of the Lands Between also liked to watch the excitement, not to mention this was a major event, the first of its kind in five thousand years, one not to be missed.

A moment later.

The mighty tide of people reorganized and formed up at a speed visible to the naked eye. They were orderly; even standing on the ruins of the battlefield, they stood in unison, full of the aesthetic of military order.

If there had been a large number of non-combatants, it wouldn't have been this efficient.

The higher-ups present were famous generals who had experienced many battles, and the grassroots were all elite veterans. The execution speed of orders passed down was first-class; they could react immediately.

In addition, there were friends who were not counted in the lineup.

The group from Roundtable Hold arrived supporting each other, beaming with joy despite everyone carrying some injuries.

The resolution of the Deathborn issue relieved Rogier and D greatly; they would no longer continue that responsibility. Nepheli expressed regret over the death of Sir Gideon Ofnir but didn't dwell on it too much. The three expressed that they would travel around the Lands Between to research for a period of time...

Frieren thought to herself that she had made the right choice; summoning them later would have been difficult instead.

"Your Majesty, please accept this."

Corhyn handed over a Mending Rune and said, "It is the work of my teacher's heart and blood. Perhaps it will be useful for the current Erdtree."

"Thank you. I believe Mr. Goldmask's learning will be passed down. I will not prohibit Golden Order scholarship."

Ranni, standing beside her, took it on her behalf and chimed in, "The Erdtree is still useful. It will need to be repaired sooner or later. It also concerns a large number of Incantations and technologies related to Gold. This Mending Rune will be used."

She would make the best use of everything to reshape the Erdtree.

Although it had weathered many storms, even if not as a symbol of the Order, it still had functions such as faith, making it worth repairing.

Hearing this, Corhyn happily went to catch up with his companions from Roundtable Hold. Compared to before, he was much more open-minded. Even though Goldmask had left forever, presumably this disciple was sufficient to inherit his mantle.

"Roar!"

The sound of greeting came from Lansseax and another batch of Ancient Dragons.

They flew in from the skyline, looking majestic from afar, but as soon as they landed, they solemnly performed a grand salute.

"It looks like your progress went smoothly?"

"Answering Your Majesty Frieren: Placidusax awoke not long ago and agreed to your proposal. At this moment, His Majesty is maintaining Farum Azula with some of our kin, and dispatched me and a group of envoys to express loyalty."

She signaled a subordinate beside her, who brought a full load of high-quality Smithing Stones.

Worthy of Ancient Dragons; unexpectedly, even after being scavenged by her, they still had a large stock.

Compared to Frieren, who cared about reinforcement materials, the others were more shocked by the implication behind this event: submission.

An entire remnant of the Ancient Dragon dynasty had been incorporated?

Unbelievable.

The unruly Ancient Dragons were actually willing to completely submit to the Soul Cinder King? It really made one curious about the details of the battle at Farum Azula back then.

Regardless, those who came were guests, and the Demigods expressed their welcome one after another.

Lansseax glanced at the sculpture of the Lichdragon in the distance and sighed with emotion, "For him to go to his death together with Godwyn can be considered a release. Many thanks to everyone, and thank you even more, Florisaxx."

"It was nothing. I just felt that our Ancient Dragon kin should have a farewell befitting their status."

"By the way, we actually gave a lift to some hitchhikers. Some of Your Majesty's friends came along with us."

An Ancient Dragon lowered a hanging basket in its hand.

Iron Fist Alexander walked down, swaying as he said, "Flying... so dizzy. It's even more thrilling than Farum Azula."

"Congratulations on becoming King." Bernahl waved his hand cheerfully.

If the two hadn't moved with the Ancient Dragons, they wouldn't have made it in time. Seeing this, Frieren also revealed a smile. Judging by their momentum, they had even been ready to join the battle to support her, but it had ended early.

They each had their own knots in their hearts. Originally, they would have parted forever in Farum Azula, but being able to witness this together now was truly fortunate.

"Lord Frieren."

A massive Rot Dragon was also mixed into the team, but thanks to the fall of the corresponding God, its performance was much more stable, without giving off the erosive feeling of pollution.

It was impressively Millicent and Trina paying a visit.

It hadn't been long since they last parted, but their complexions were like different people; the previous weakness was swept away. Not only had the long-accumulated dark injuries been healed, but she must have also absorbed the power of the main body. It should be said that the half-body had grown into a complete body.

The arrival of the Twins of the Haligtree immediately attracted the attention of all parties; after all, they counted as a major faction.

They would serve as powerful guardians of the new dynasty, laying the foundation for peace.

"I heard you defeated Godfrey with sword techniques. Have you actually reached that realm? I am still far behind," Millicent said, extremely astonished.

"I indeed have some new insights. We can spar often later."

Frieren turned her head to look at the purple-haired girl and asked, "Trina, I want to stop the blizzard in the Consecrated Snowfield and develop it further to become habitable. Otherwise, the Haligtree is still a bit narrow. What do you think? After all, I promised to improve the situation of the Albinaurics."

"I fully support it, Your Majesty."

As the power of the Erdtree lineage declined and transformed, a major basis for discriminating against Albinaurics was indeed missing.

Both of them were inclined to expand the paradise to accommodate different races.

The detailed plan was handed over to Melina for specific discussion. Not only the Twins of the Haligtree, but she also received the Ancient Dragons, communicating with ease. She could already be called an excellent Chancellor.

If it were before, she might have fussed over whether she should act on another's behalf or if it would be overstepping. But after baring her heart at the Flame Peak, no secrets existed between the two parties.

She loved the King deeply, so naturally, she wanted to share her burdens.

On the other side, Ranni waved in greeting. It was the rear personnel—Rennala, Thops, Sellen, and others—arriving. In reality, they weren't far away when the war started, merely at the camp further back, mainly responsible for magic equipment.

It was both for safety and to ensure direct support if the front line became dangerous—especially not to waste a Demigod combatant like Rennala.

"I was prepared to die here. I didn't expect you all to win so thoroughly."

Rennala looked around; the familiar faces were alive and well. It was truly rare.

The sole surviving little princess showed off the Order of the Stars as if claiming credit. In reality, how could she hear clearly? She only felt gratified that the Carian Royal Family's disaster was over.

Farewell.

And regarding the concern for Radagon—the long separation finally welcomed a result, and it was mostly relief.

A good part of the day later, the Throne Plaza was full of guests.

Frieren arrived before the throne amidst the crowd's escort and cheers. Petals fluttered, drums and music played in unison. Looking out, it was all familiar people; she had never thought there would be such a lively day.

There was no need to say more about her right and left hands, Ranni and Melina, as well as the Mimic Tear; she would still have to rely on their hard work and great merit in the future.

There were also old subordinates who had followed to the front line, such as Edgar, Kenneth, Boc, and others, as well as Moongrum, Mulitir, and Gaius.

The Demigods who had fought bravely until now—the Abyss Watchers, Messmer, and Rellana—were all present.

There were Teachers Sellen and Thops from the Magic Academy.

There were the two major factions later incorporated, the Haligtree and the Ancient Dragons, represented by Trina and Florisaxx.

And the Tarnished from Roundtable Hold met along the way, along with other friends like Bernahl and Alexander... Even Rya and Patches had rushed over in a hurry, especially the latter, who couldn't wait to see the big event.

They were all here.

Looking at them, Frieren felt inexplicably at peace, with a heap of things she wanted to chat about.

Unfortunately, the matters in her own world were not yet finished. She had promised them that she would return as soon as she obtained the method to solve her physical problems, so she wouldn't catch up on old times now. Keep it simple and fast.

She signaled Melina that they could begin.

The impassioned vocal music became increasingly high-pitched. The most elite troops were lined up neatly, weapons like a forest, banners fluttering, ready and waiting.

At the same time, Ranni announced to the world with the power of the Order. Every living being felt a faint wisp of intent connecting them, echoing the Dark Moon on the skyline. It was more vast than the reach of the Erdtree's radiance, penetrating deep into people's hearts.

Even Ansbach and Moore, far away at the ends of the earth, stopped what they were doing and couldn't help but gaze in the direction of the Royal Capital.

The world was about to change.

Thousands of living beings fell silent, waiting only for the final declaration.

It would become a footnote to the old era and a congratulatory speech for the beginning of the new era. It would not be dominated by anyone's words, but would be the response of the world's rules themselves.

At this moment, Frieren was already dressed in brand-new armor, draped in military attire, and wearing a crown. The color of war had faded; her brow was solemn and steady. Everything was naturally perfect.

The portraits, sculptures, and history books of the future dynasty's founder would all be based on this moment, spreading to all directions and leaving an eternal mark.

"Everyone, after this, I will slumber for a period of time, but it will be quick."

A mere Demon race wouldn't take much time.

Accurately speaking, the rejection reaction of her current self traveling between different worlds almost didn't exist anymore; going back for the time it took to take a nap would be fine. The recovery work of the Lands Between and other worlds could be done slowly.

The current Frieren was firm and full of confidence, with abundant power responding to her own will.

The crowd nodded to express understanding; they were long adapted to it. Precisely because they knew Frieren had to leave in a hurry again, they seized the time to declare it first, which counted as giving everyone a reassuring pill in advance.

The Soul Cinder King gently stroked the armrest of the throne, then took her seat.

"...The fallen leaves tell a story. In the Lands Between, our home across the fog, Frieren has become Elden Lord."

"Under the King's rule, presumably people will describe it thus—"

"That was an Age of Revival."

The Order of the Stars carried the magnificent atmosphere and the declaration to all directions. The Blessed Dew returned to the earth, and abundance descended.

Frieren felt the spatial fluctuations of the other worlds she had visited becoming increasingly clear.

She could depart.
