Chapter 331 - The Mark That Refused To Die

The second choice was to let it go, allow it to keep eating and destroying everything around it, and eventually give birth to a massive existence.

"I have always been suppressing it," Belial said. "So what if I let the Lord feed it a little?"

He carefully sent some g-particle energy into the mark. This time he did not stop it much, instead deliberately allowing it to absorb, and the mark visibly expanded just a bit, like it had taken a tonic.

An infinite perpetual engine carried far more existential weight than ordinary matter, souls, or even Laws. It was precisely for this reason that The End had latched onto him in the first place.

Under Belial's direct infusion, the mark was forcibly fed back to its previous state. But as soon as the head finished manifesting, it was mercilessly slapped into a Shard.

"So it really is possible," Belial said. "Not only can I use this power, I can probably feed it back into that earlier state again."

He looked up, clenched his hand, and a massive blood-red blockbuster field shattered open in front of him, just like the appearance of Overlord Ridge before. Countless resentments and vast amounts of Dark Power entered their end at this moment, as blood-red fog that erased everything spread outward.

He could feel that if he wanted to, he could quickly turn himself into something like Overlord Ridge, or directly accelerate the birth of another one.

"My teammates explained it to me," he said. "They said this thing is like a natural law, so it cannot just be beaten to death. That makes some sense, but I am not convinced, and I really want to try."

"I want to see if this thing can actually be beaten to death."

He crushed the mark in his hand, and Belial made up his mind.

"I am going to drag you out again and beat you down hard. If beating you once does not solve it, I will keep beating you until one of us is done. We will see whether I can hit harder, or you can last longer."

A certain famous master of arm strength once said that if your demands are not met, you should beat them hard. If that still does not work, keep beating until it does.

Belial felt that made perfect sense. After all, it was just a so-called natural phenomenon. Since when had he ever failed to deal with something like that?

Godzilla is a monster, something unbelievable that exists outside common sense. So common sense does not apply, and he did not plan to play by the rules.

If some so-called natural phenomenon thought it could control him, then it was only waiting to be crushed.

"Looks like I cannot just sleep and do nothing anymore," he said. "I need to actively grow stronger. I will just keep a steady breathing rhythm and let the g particles work harder."

Growing stronger was that simple for him. He only needed to stack energy levels to increase his power, without any fancy tricks.

Next, he needed a sacrifice that could summon Overlord Ridge again so he could beat it thoroughly. He could use himself as the offering, but Belial thought that would be stupid.

He clearly remembered that there was a very good sacrifice available. It was the one he had not finished off before, the guy who was scared away by a single Heat Ray.

"I decided long ago that when I meet an opponent, I will kill them on the spot and leave no future trouble," he said. "But you actually managed to escape from me twice. I cannot accept that."

He remembered the enormous black vortex from before. If he was not mistaken, that thing was also a super-large natural phenomenon. Using it in a one-for-one exchange to bring out Overlord Ridge should be worthy enough.

What he wanted was not just to pull out a part of it and blow it up. He wanted to completely and utterly destroy it in full, because he needed to vent this anger.

Besides, deep binding to himself was not a problem anymore. Belial already had an idea on how to completely get rid of this cursed nuisance.

He had a feeling that what was coming would be an unprecedented battle. Before that, he planned to clean up those old threats he had been too lazy to deal with.

Belial flew back to his main body. This time, he no longer used part of his energy to suppress the expanding Mark of Finality, and instead boldly accelerated his own Energy Stream.

G particles multiplied at high speed, and infinite perpetual engines worked without limit. Once he removed the restrictions, the efficiency more than tripled.

His already massive body rapidly expanded as well. Black fog gradually spread out, covering his energy domain.

As the energy increased, the temperature inside Belial's body rose at a terrifying rate. In the blink of an eye, it had surpassed four digits.

Even the smallest corners exceeded three-digit temperatures, while the core of his body had already reached tens of thousands of degrees.

"What is going on?" someone said. "What is this energy fluctuation, did he take some kind of drug? How did the frequency spike so many times all of a sudden?"

After barely repairing the Observation Station, Bella stared blankly at the data. The rate of increase looked completely unreal, far more exaggerated than any forced overload.

The temperature was not only rising to an astonishing level. Even more terrifying was that the outward radiation from this rising heat was like a star, yet it was tightly constrained within a fixed range.

The extreme heat forced the detection range of the observation station to pull back significantly. That constant, highly penetrating thermal radiation was simply too damaging.

"What is he trying to do?"

Bella was soon forced to run back to a place slightly closer to World, roughly around Interstice, which was where Belial and some unknown Crimson God were staying. There was simply no way to remain outside anymore. What had once been a quiet storm held in sleep and suppression finally showed its true face as a natural disaster, spinning like another vortex while radiating extremely violent energy.

The temperature kept rising, energy reactions surged, and highly penetrating radiation arrived in waves. Even nanomachines with self-repair properties could not endure it. Just to barely sample data from the radiation, Bella had to bring out detection instruments made of metal infused with part of Belial's black mist.

"What on earth is happening? The scale expansion speed of Belial is at least five times faster than before, and these temperature and energy indexes are just impossible to predict." Bella fumbled around, wiping sweat from her forehead as instrument readings around her skyrocketed in ways that looked unreal. Circuit boards shorted out and began to smoke from every direction.

Outside, the Black Storm had become more violent than ever, radiating a blue White Tier glow like a star undergoing a fierce reaction. Within it churned visible g-particle clusters, shining like stars to the naked eye. Vast streams of starlight gathered into a river, converging and dispersing again like the Milky Way, each cycle moving and swallowing even more energy than before.

This constant energy movement caused the massive storm, now close to the size of the moon, to heat the surrounding several Earth-Moon System to temperatures that had already exceeded the surface of the Sun. Direct temperatures had surpassed two hundred thousand degrees, and the radiation range could not even be calculated. This was still not the limit, because the moment an approximate temperature was detected, the machines could no longer endure and were destroyed.

From the distant Void, massive Dark Power and other energies were dragged in by the expanding energy field and absorbed. Occasionally, wave-like energy pulses spread outward, as violent and rhythmic as a Sun storm. According to Bella's analysis, if she was not mistaken, this was Belial breathing.

Now the entire region was covered in thick blackness, with only faint points of light visible from the core. "This is bad, everything is really broken now. We know nothing anymore." A stuttering sound echoed in Bella's head, announcing that the last sequence of detectors had been completely destroyed.

She could only give up helplessly, unable to understand what had happened to Belial, but certain that something serious had changed. High temperature alone would not have shut the detectors down, but the real cause was massive, unpredictable changes in rules and physical constants that the machines simply could not adapt to. The domain where Belial resided felt like a new big bang, and based on the earlier energy growth rates, if Belial kept this up, his output already vaguely exceeded the Sun.

"Ham, you finally made it. Can you tell what Belial is doing right now?" Ham came running back through the door, panting hard, and froze with a serious, blank expression when she saw the view outside. Strangely enough, she really could vaguely tell what Belial was doing.
