"With that, we're finally done. You should all be feeling the effects of your gifts now. Check your status, just for confirmation. You know—just in case." The Faceless One spoke toward the floating camera that followed him, streaming everything live.
He then snapped his fingers, and the landscape transformed into a space-themed vista. Six colored gems floated in the center, surrounded by distant planets.
"Initially, I'd planned an all-out invasion of Earth-727—the multiverse designated as Marvel—but after conversing with Big G, a new plan was created. Truthfully, it might be more palatable to most of you, since we're all human… and so are they."
"I am the god of humanity. I would never want to send you off to slaughter others of our race without good reason or for greed."
"What I'm about to do will leave me slightly weakened for a while. Not by much, but enough. That universe has an event called the Convergence—a natural occurrence that happens every three thousand years, where worlds on the World Tree align and overlap. Asgard, Vanaheim… things leak into Earth, and things from Earth leak into theirs."
"It was supposed to happen in three years, but I'll use my power to bring the Convergence forward to now. In the process, I'll create what is essentially a giant, permanent spatial gate between our two realities. I'll anchor it on a forgotten but powerful living island called Krakoa."
"Be respectful to it. It's almost as powerful as a Heavenly Dragon, even in its diminished state. From there, you can help them during the invasion—and with any other shenanigans that occur because of the Convergence."
"One reason I'm doing this… is because I want a haven for you all. A place to survive in case we fail to kill the Machine Gods in the future—somewhere to fall back to. That universe's power level is way higher than ours."
He waved his hands, and quick images flashed past us. I saw Phoenix Jean Grey battling Apocalypse. I saw World War Hulk step onto the West Coast and sink it into the sea with sheer strength. Images of galactic wars between the Kree and the Skrulls. Celestials crafting planets. Finally—Thanos, with the six gems in the Infinity Gauntlet, snapping his fingers.
Fear was palpable among all of us there—and I could only presume the same everywhere else.
"I just gave you a sneak peek of my visions of that universe, without our intervention. Many things may stay the same, or go wrong—but truthfully, that doesn't matter. Go. Live. Become as powerful as I believe you can be."
"I'm also allowing all races access to the portals—even gods. Truthfully, some of you need to get out more. The reason most of you are like this is that there's been no new adventure for eons. Maybe you'd like to meet your counterparts in this universe and see the difference in power."
"For example, I've seen the Odin of that universe—and I can tell you this for free: he's strong enough to almost overpower Great Red on his own. And he isn't even close to being the most powerful being there."
"The other reason is that I have a task to ask of you all. There are six items in that universe that we need. They're called the Infinity Stones."
He waved his hand, and the Infinity Gems drifted into his palm.
"These are the Infinity Stones. They crystallized at the very creation of the universe and hold the highest level of power over six concepts: Time, Space, Power, Mind, Soul, and Reality. Alone, they're incredibly powerful. If you aren't strong enough, you might disintegrate just trying to use one—or even hold it."
"When held together, they can grant any single wish. I'm talking anything at all. It will take time—years—and a lot of luck to gather them. But once someone does, I implore you to make this specific wish:
'I wish to erase the EXE Machine Gods from all timelines and continuums.'
"This is a nigh-impossible task in truth, as these gems are guarded by very powerful people, or are lost and may turn up unexpectedly. I'll probably hop over at some point myself, but not anytime soon. So go. Have fun. Get stronger. That universe has a lot of powerful artifacts and magic. Some of you might even fall in love."
"Only fifty thousand of you will go through at first. I've also designated Cardinal Vasco Strada as the leader and president of our universe's expedition—at least for the first four years. After that, I don't know—maybe hold an election or something."
"Oh, and Soleil, Aisha, and David—there's another like you living in that universe. Link up. Be nice… or something."
"And that's all, folks. The exodus begins tomorrow."
He snapped his fingers—and darkness enveloped me.
Note:
On second thought I have decided to leave the Watchers as they are. Beings of immense cosmic power only bound by oaths they themselves made.
