"Good girl,..." he soothed her in a low voice.
"Asher Land, can I talk to you about something?" She looked at him seriously.
"Is it something that has to be said now? Can't it wait until later?"
She shook her head.
The last thing a man wants is for a woman to get hesitant at a moment like this, but there was nothing he could do, especially when that woman was Sophie Smith, whom he couldn't help but be helpless around.
