On the way back to the Land Family villa, Sophie leaned her head against the car window, lost in thought.
"Thinking about Eva and my brother?"
"Yeah." Sophie turned her head to look at Asher Land, who was focused on driving. "Don't you think their situation is a bit strange?"
"What's so strange about it?" Asher spoke as if he had seen through something.
"Eva was exposed by the media for having a child out of wedlock, surrounded by scandal. She married my brother just to cover it up, right?" Asher hit the nail on the head with every word.
"Using... marriage as a cover?" It sounded a bit unreliable to Sophie.
But Eva was the kind of woman who acted impulsively, and these unreliable actions were exactly her style. Sophie sighed, feeling a faint unease in her heart.
She had a feeling that this 'marriage' might hurt both of their feelings. Seeing her distressed, Asher couldn't help but offer a word of comfort.
