His concern for Maya wasn't feigned; he wanted Arthur to see how much he cared about Maya, hoping he'd be gentle and not hurt her.
However, when Arthur saw Maya casting a pitiful glance at Aron, he immediately struck her head with the gun butt, threatening, "Behave, don't try any tricks."
Maya was stunned by the blow, furrowing her brows, not daring to move recklessly.
