The chef had prepared the midnight snack a few minutes before they arrived.
Matthew Saxon was not used to having midnight snacks. Since he was young, he had developed the habit of having three regular meals a day, and unless there was some kind of social event, he wouldn't touch any food after dinner.
So, naturally, the midnight snack was prepared for Scarlett Yates.
The chef had prepared seafood wontons, originally preparing only one serving as per Matthew Saxon's request. But later, because Scarlett Yates wanted someone to accompany her while eating, Matthew Saxon asked someone to prepare another serving.
The wontons were extremely delicious, and Scarlett Yates gobbled them up, even finishing the soup and leaving the bowl clean. Even Matthew Saxon, who rarely touched midnight snacks, finished his portion.
After finishing the meal and freshening up, it was already late into the night.
