Maeve was barefoot and quickly ran to the stairway.
"Maeve!" Caiden Ward naturally became anxious and furrowed his brow, shouting.
Maeve, still in shock, turned and glanced at him.
Caiden Ward strode towards her.
Maeve shivered, stepped back, and missed a step, exclaiming "Ah," as she tumbled down.
Caiden Ward's blood froze for a second. When he came to his senses, he didn't even know how he managed to walk, rushing over in a panic, squatting at the stair's corner to support her.
Fortunately, the stairs were carpeted, so her fall wasn't too dangerous, but—

Maeve felt dazed, her vision starry, and mumbled, "Uncle Ward."
"I'm here, I'm here." Caiden said quickly, holding her up, cautiously asking, "Does it hurt? Tell me wherever it hurts, and I'll call a Doctor over to check on you."
