Ava Parker pointed a finger at Maxwell Parker beside her, glaring at him with hatred as she continued, "It's this man, my father, who told Adrian everything. He actually wants me to leave River City and never come back."
After speaking, Ava Parker looked to Phoebe with tears in her eyes and said, "Mom, did you know? Adrian came to propose today; he came to marry me!"
Phoebe widened her eyes immediately, "What did you say?"
Without waiting for Ava to say more, Phoebe immediately turned to Maxwell Parker, angrily accusing, "Elder Parker, what have you done!"
Maxwell's old, cloudy eyes looked at Phoebe, "What do you know? Adrian didn't come to propose; he came to ask about what happened five years ago! If I don't tell the truth, we could all end up dead! Do you not know who he is?..."
Phoebe staggered back a step, "How could this happen?"
Ava grabbed Phoebe frantically, "Mom, don't listen to Dad's nonsense. Adrian said he wants to marry me; he told me himself!..."
