Iris Harris patted her hair and looked her over again. Over these past days, Melody Nelson seemed to have grown up a lot; there was already a touch of mature grace between her brows.
This storm in the Nelson family had pushed this clueless girl to grow.
That gave Iris a faint sense of relief.
People have to grow up. You can't hide under your parents' wings from the wind and rain forever.
"You take care of yourself too." Iris said softly. "Text me when you get there."
Melody kissed her on the cheek and said with a bright smile, "Okay."
She turned and boarded the plane.
Iris watched her figure disappear into the cabin, and only then slowly withdrew her gaze.
"I didn't expect she'd really go to the United Kingdom to study."
On the way back, Nathan Nelson was full of emotion.
Iris said, "It's good for her to have something to do right now."
Nathan nodded. "I know."
Back at the Nelson family home, Iris started getting ready to return to River City.
