Zoe Lewis didn't move and pretended to be asleep.
He could even take a pillow out of the cabinet. She suspected he had a blanket in there. Even if there wasn't a blanket, surely there must be a quilt?
To sleep on the same bed was one thing, but to share a quilt was too much.
Andrew Layne lay beside her without moving closer, didn't try to steal the quilt, wearing just shorts, seeming intent on sleeping like this for the night.
It was early autumn, and the night air was already quite chilly with the balcony window open, letting in cold gusts of wind, giving Andrew a shiver.
Yet he still didn't try to take Zoe's quilt, took a breath of cold air and closed his eyes to sleep.
A while later, there were sounds of steady breathing next to Zoe.
Asleep?
He actually just fell asleep like that?
Is he foolish?
If he had taken her quilt, would she have been able to get it back?
Zoe felt both sympathetic and irritated. Could it be he didn't want to share a quilt with her at all!
