Chapter 103 - Chapter 103: Strange and Rituals

[3rd POV]

It didn't take long before the man had found the rest of the books that he wanted. Making a pile of around 10 different books to buy. All of them were magical in nature, as he found that most of the books on science that were interesting, were well beyond him.

He was certain that Reed or Tony would be very very interested in them though. So he'd have to inform them of this place in the future.

But he was still contemplating if he even wanted to tell anyone about this place in the first place. The dimension itself was incredibly complex, and having an alternate universe Wanda here might turn some heads.

That, and he wasn't sure he wanted any of the...darker entities out there finding out about this place. A being like Mephisto finding this place could bring disastrous consequences, especially if he managed to make a deal with the woman that he was currently looking at.

"You don't need to worry, Strange. I am not one to fall to the manipulations of other entities like Mephisto" Wanda said, knowing what he was thinking at the man paused, realizing she wasn't just guessing anymore, but knew what he was thinking.

"How-" "I am more than just the Scarlet Witch, Steven. I am...beyond that now, beyond the Wanda Maximoff of your universe, well and truly at that" Wanda cut him off with a smile, as she lifted her finger, a miniature universe forming at the end of it as his eyes widened in shock.

"In one of my more favored universes that I have been calling home, I am known widely as a "Lord of Chaos". But I suppose that isn't even a proper title for me anymore. A God of Chaos would be a far better way to describe it" Wanda added, as the man only looked at her in awe and slight fear.

"...Are you going to cause any harm to my universe?" Steven asked, tense.

"Of course not. As long as I am not antagonized then I won't be touching anyone. This bookstore is a natural place that all are permitted to enter, bar a couple of types of people. But that is only reserved for monsters like rapists and pedophiles. I have my limits" Wanda responded, smiling calmly.

She wasn't worried about the man in front of her, as not even Steven was a threat to her. Maybe if it was his peak from the earlier years of his comics, then she would be threatened, but the current him, not a chance. His earlier years were...when he was basically a God, and could do literally anything.

This was the more modern and realistic version of him. He was still immensely powerful, but not Godlike or anything.

"...I see. And what of an entity like Mephisto?" Strange asked. Wanda hummed at the question, as it was genuinely a good one. Mephisto was a dangerous being, not to her, but to most other beings in Marvel. He was also really really damn annoying, and excellent at manipulating others. So it was only natural that Steven was worried.

"Hmm, he would be allowed to shop within my store as long as he does not try anything against my children and I" Wanda responded after a few moments of thought, her children both curious on who Mephisto was, deciding to ask later.

She hadn't really explained much about the Marvel multiverse yet.

"I suppose that is fair, considering your level of power" Steven responded in acceptance, deciding not to argue with this woman that could likely blink and obliterate him from existence.

He definitely would need to be careful about who he tells though. As with her level of power and her neutrality, it was very likely that Tony or one of the others might kick up a fuss. And he didn't even want to think about the villains and what they might do with the knowledge that can be found here.

He shuddered at the thought of someone like Doom finding this place.

"I do hope you are not thinking about restricting my bookstore, Steven. I can make the door to my store appear anywhere in your universe, so I'd suggest against trying to hide this place" Wanda said with an eerie smile on her face that made the man a little uncomfortable.

He knew that she was basically threatening him in a roundabout way. And he'd rather not piss off a being like her.

"A-As you wish, Miss Maximoff" Steven responded awkwardly as he brought out his card to pay for the books. The total cost of the ten books was far cheaper than he had expected, and he had more than enough to pay for them.

After paying for the books, he also got a tea to go, as well as a few muffins to eat back at the Sanctum. That, and he was sure a few of his fellow sorcerers would love to try them. As they did smell delicious.

"Is that all, Mr Strange?" Wanda asked, as the man sipped on the tea finding it to be positively divine tasting.

"Yes that is all, thank you Miss Maximoff. And I do hope you have an excellent day" The man said, as he walked off, obviously trying to get out of the shop quickly so that he wouldn't have to stay in her presence, a presence that was likely making him quite nervous.

"That man was scared of you, wasn't he Mama?" Naruto asked, watching him flee.

"He was, most people of that universe are going to be scared of me, hon" Wanda responded, causing the two to look at her.

"Why?" Milim asked, confused.

"...Because in that universe my name has...a lot of meaning. And while I am not sure if it has happened yet, the things I have done in that place...weren't the most morally correct, Milim. I have committed atrocities at one point, perhaps not in the same multiverse, but if my counterpart develops as I had at one point, then they'll be even more fearful of me than they are now" Wanda responded, causing them to frown.

"Then we'll just have to protect Mama!" Naruto cheered, as Milim nodded.

"Yeah! And they're just a bunch of wimps anyways! Cuz we ain't ever going to be afraid of Mama!" Milim added, as Naruto fiercely nodded in acceptance. Neither even contemplating the idea of being afraid of their beloved mother.

"Oh? Never afraid of Mama? And here I thought you were scared of my wrath when you tried to prank me?" Wanda asked, as the two blinked and began to pale slightly, remembering the revenge their Mama got on them.

She basically redirected the prank back at them times 5, and started her own fun prank war against them, one she was absolutely demolishing them at.

"Perhaps I shoul-" "No no no! You're scary Mama, you're scary!" Milim said shaking her head rapidly, as Wanda smirked.

"Oh really? I'll show you scary!" She said as she leapt after her children, their squeals echoing through the store as she chased after them, the childish giggles echoing as they played.

Later in the day, after Strange had left, Wanda was sitting behind her counter, as usual. In the store were the Mikaelsons, which had become an increasingly common occurrence thanks to Hope's birth that was coming up soon.

They were here in order to find a spell that would protect Hope once she was born, as the other witches of New Orleans were becoming increasingly antagonistic towards them, and were openly threatening their daughters/nieces life, so, they were here to find something to protect her.

It wasn't just the other this time, but also included Rebekah who looked like she wanted to be anywhere but here. It was amusing to be honest.

Eventually their search was becoming annoying, so Hayley opted to come to Wanda herself.

"Hello, do you have any books on spells or wards of some sort that can provide protection to an individual, even if they aren't born yet?" Hayley asked as she rubbed her stomach instinctively.

"Hmmm, I do believe I have a few. But it matters, do you wish for one that relies on the blood of their family living, or do you want one that involves directly engraving magic into their form, which is a lot more complicated?" Wanda asked, as the ritual was incredibly complicated, but was strong.

"Is there a difference in power between the two?"

"The one that involves the engraving is several times stronger, and won't rely on the blood of the family. But will instead use the babes magic itself, and considering you are all Mikaelsons, it'd work completely fine. And even if she does run out of magic somehow, the engravings would call upon the magic of the surroundings to supplement the missing energies" Wanda explained, as the rest of the Mikaelsons walked over as they heard this.

"And how complicated is this ritual exactly?" Rebekah questioned.

"Very. It would require a number of ingredients of immense rarity, as well as a lot of preparation. But, I suppose as long as you have a decent bit of knowledge in magic, you can do it" Wanda responded.

"...What if we were to pay you for the ingredients? Would that be possible?" Elijah asked, as Wanda smiled.

"That is perfectly fine. I can get you the ingredients, but I'd ask for books in return instead of currency. Books that you have not already traded me" Wanda answered, as the man nodded, as Klaus glanced at his brother and agreed.

"We will get you the books" Elijah said, as the rest of the family began to follow after him, prepared to find some books to trade for these ingredients.

Watching them walk off, Wanda smiled, one thought on her mind.

'They're...not as bad as I remembered from the show, how...interesting~'
