"Good!" Seeing that Dai Weisi showed no discomfort at all, Tang Xiao finally relaxed completely. Pointing toward the others in the tavern, he spoke with solemn gravity.

"Your Highness, you still have another task—kill them, and earn your ticket into the City of Slaughter!"

"Hahaha! Just this wet-behind-the-ears brat thinks he can kill us? What a ridiculous fantasy!"

"Get lost! The City of Slaughter isn't a place for pampered noble brats like you."

"Heh, since you've already come, why rush to leave?"

"How about I butcher the lot of you and use you as chatter for after dinner? Kekeke…"

Dai Weisi didn't reply to any of the mockery. Instead, he simply pulled out two grenades. Without a word, he yanked the fuses and hurled them at the crowd.

Boom—!

A deafening explosion blasted through the tavern, ripping gaping holes into the surrounding walls.

As for those fallen degenerates and prisoners, the shrapnel shot through their chests in an instant. Not a single one survived. Their mangled bodies lay sprawled across the floor in pools of blood.

None of them had ever seen a grenade. They naturally assumed two wooden lumps couldn't harm them—and in that moment of carelessness, they were annihilated!

The sudden blast made the tavern attendant jump in shock. He stared wide-eyed at the young man before him, utterly stunned.

Just two chunks of "wood" had unleashed such destructive power. In an instant, everyone in the tavern was dead, and even the building itself was nearly blown apart.

Terror flickered across the attendant's face. His body trembled slightly, afraid he might become one of those corpses at any moment.

"Take me to the City of Slaughter," Dai Weisi murmured. His voice wasn't loud, but the absolute authority in his words made it impossible for the attendant to refuse.

"P-please… follow me!"

With shaking hands, the attendant triggered a mechanism beneath the bar. With a rumble, a hidden passage slowly opened at Dai Weisi and Tang Xiao's feet.

"Your Highness, please proceed. From here on, I can't accompany you."

"Thank you, Lord Xiao Tian, for bringing me this far. The rest is up to me."

With that, Dai Weisi's eyes hardened. He leapt cleanly into the tunnel below.

After crossing through the passage, Dai Weisi felt as if he'd entered another world. A blood-red sky loomed overhead, and a crimson full moon hung in the air.

What surprised him was how low that moon seemed—only a few hundred meters above him, nothing like the distant moon of the real world.

He felt that with one good leap he might be able to touch it. But he also understood this sky and moon were illusions. This place was merely the underground area beneath the tavern and village.

Before him towered a massive, imposing city. Its walls were pitch black, and under the scarlet moonlight the sight was eerie and chilling.

High above the city gate hung a plaque bearing four bold characters: City of Slaughter.

"So this is the City of Slaughter? Even more magnificent than in the anime!" Dai Weisi sighed. His right hand shifted into his soul-tool ring form, and he retrieved the Holy Sovereign Sword that Zhu Zhuqing had carefully chosen for him. The City of Slaughter was filled with peril—he had to stay on guard.

Blade in hand, Dai Weisi walked step by step toward the city. When he reached the shadow of the dark fortress, a domineering voice echoed at his ear.

"Welcome to the City of Slaughter. This is the capital of hell, a world drenched in death. Here, you can obtain anything your heart desires—at the cost of your life."

As the voice faded, the city gates opened. A squad of fully armed soldiers in armor and bearing blades dashed forward.

Leading them was a dark knight clad in iron plate and riding at full gallop. He charged like a streak of black lightning, coming to a halt right before Dai Weisi and shouting, "I am the Terror Knight, Scott!"

Dai Weisi stepped forward calmly. Anyone with the courage to come to the City of Slaughter wouldn't be frightened by a single mounted warrior in armor.

He cupped his hands respectfully. "Greetings, Knight Scott. I wish to enter the City of Slaughter. Please grant me passage."

Scott offered no unnecessary words. He simply handed Dai Weisi a token and said, "This is your pass. Get inside quickly. In the City of Slaughter, there is no return. Once you go in—abandon hope of leaving!"

"Thank you for the warning, Knight Scott." Dai Weisi smiled faintly. Taking the token, he left Scott standing there and strode boldly through the gates of the City of Slaughter.

He glanced down at the specially engraved token. A skull was carved into its surface, and beneath it shone four prominent digits: 8967.

After pocketing the token, Dai Weisi walked openly into the outer city. The moment he stepped in, a stunning woman with a voluptuous figure and a black veil over her face approached him with a seductive, eerie smile.

"Hello, handsome. Welcome to the City of Slaughter. I am your guide."

She paused, then continued, "For one whole day, as long as you stay by my side, your safety is guaranteed. After that… you'll be on your own.

This is a paradise of slaughter, a playground of sin. In this place, all spirit rings and soul skills lose their power. Only those with the instincts of a beast and overwhelming strength are qualified to survive.

And if, little handsome, you want to leave, the only way is—"

"That's enough, no need to go on."

Before she could finish, Dai Weisi cut her off coldly. "Alright, miss, I already know the rules here. You don't need to explain. Just take me straight to the Hell Killing Field."

"Uh…" At his words, the veiled beauty was momentarily stunned. "I didn't expect you to even know about the Hell Killing Field. But are you sure you want to go there now, without learning more? Once you enter, I can't protect you!"

Dai Weisi laughed softly. "I don't need your protection. In fact, if you don't mind, I can protect you. Just take me to the Hell Killing Field. I don't plan on staying in the City of Slaughter any longer than I must."

"Hmph, another one courting death!" The veiled girl snorted, clearly irritated by his dismissive tone. Still, she made no move to refuse.

"Since you're so determined to die, follow me."

"Hehe, I won't be dying. The ones who'll die are the people inside the Hell Killing Field."

With a calm smile, Dai Weisi followed the woman until they stopped before a massive structure. The building formed an irregular conical shape, reminiscent of an ancient coliseum. This was the Hell Killing Field.

It was enormous—about the same size as the Star Luo Grand Arena in the heart of Star Luo City. At its center stood a platform similar to a soul combat stage.

Ten burly men were currently locked in brutal combat, blades flashing as blood spattered across the stage. The stench of gore was so strong it carried nausea and revulsion.

Yet instead of recoiling, the crowd around them erupted in wild cheers at the smell of blood.
