MGSFV?! Chapter 441. Who's Honkai's Supreme Queen?; The Nature of Humanity
From the small, we see the great.
While not everyone voiced it, some had always cared deeply about one question—
What exactly is the attitude of the so-called Archetypes, born from the Stigmata Plan, toward "humans"?
If Archetypes could understand and accept humanity, then for some players, the Stigmata Plan might count as a form of "inheritance," perhaps not entirely unacceptable.
But if they couldn't understand, or worse, rejected humanity?
Then the same people would feel they simply could not accept the Stigmata Plan.
A civilization without "humans"—would such a civilization still hold meaning for humanity?
And next, Yutu did indeed mention the Archetypes' stance toward humanity.
Or more precisely—
She deliberately let Kiana and the others hear the voices of the Archetypes.
...
In the story—
After greeting them, Yutu casually led the trio toward the so-called Finality Crater, all while continuing to monologue.
"Oh right—you're all very concerned about Fu Hua's safety, aren't you?"
"Don't worry... Lord Kevin had no intention of harming her, only temporarily stripped her of combat ability."
Hearing Fu Hua's name—
The trio immediately tried to catch up.
But just as they were about to close in, Yutu suddenly blinked to the edge of a cliff.
[Yutu's movement style is kind of flashy.]
Once Kiana and the others finally reached her again—
She slowly resumed speaking.
"Hmm... what were we talking about before bringing up Lord Kevin?"
???
Was she seriously pretending to forget?
While Yutu's tone had a tinge of Elysia's flair at first—
With more dialogue, it became clear...
Yutu seemed to enjoy teasing others.
Hmm... then again, Elysia was quite...
After all—there was the "I want to pet Mei's horns" thing, or the "that Mei who defeated Mobius"...
"???"
Well...
Elysia did all that with the intent to help Mei better integrate into the Elysian Realm, and form strong bonds with the Flame-Chasers.
Confidence.jpg
Sure, her methods seemed strange, and Mei probably didn't want a repeat—but the results spoke for themselves, didn't they?
Just look at Mei after the farewell—nearly broken.
Almost said to Kevin upon meeting him again...
"I promised her—and them—that no matter the cost, humanity would defeat Honkai."
And now, she gets nostalgic at every little reminder of the Elysian Realm...
Cough cough.
Meanwhile, Yutu seemed to be doing it purely for fun?
...
Bronya made her classic (ᗜ˰ᗜ) expression and dryly said:
"You said you were the crystallization of the Schariac stigmata."
"Ah, yes." Yutu clapped her hands. "Thank you, Bronya."
Huh?
Bronya looked even more exasperated at Yutu's theatrical act.
"In that case... let's start from my identity."
Seemingly done playing, Yutu raised one finger—striking a classic "explaining" pose.
[Yutu's pose looks just like Durandal's bridge stance in TYW armor.]
[So if Yutu ever boards Hyperion, she might also use guns like Durandal?]
[You're judging weapon types by hand gestures now??]
...
Back to the story.
Yutu began explaining:
"I'm not human. I'm a new lifeform created by the Stigmata Plan—"
"If we borrow an old term... you can call my kind Archetypes."
"In the maze earlier, you may have encountered enemies that looked similar to me."
"They are Seeds of Idealism—incomplete artificial lifeforms not yet evolved into true Archetypes."
"Because they haven't matured, they're easily driven by instinct to repel outsiders."
"So, during your time in the maze, they regarded you as enemies and attempted to eliminate you."
[So the weird mobs we just fought... would they all become Yutu-level beauties?]
[I'm regretting now (not really).]
[You didn't pity the Dead Apostles either.]
[What if they were male?]
[Everyone knows: females have higher Honkai adaptability.]
The idea that "females adapt to Honkai better than males" is well-established among players.
Still, some raised objections.
[Kevin, Welt, Otto... would like a word.]
After all, as the universe of Honkai Impact 3rd expands—
More male characters have proven to withstand Honkai—and they're powerful too.
[What if males and females actually have equal adaptability, but... historically, more males went to war, and those with high adaptability died in combat?]
[Are you... Darwin?]
[I've got proof. Otto's ancestor deserted. That's why he passed the gene on. (dog emoji)]
...
Players who were just mourning those incomplete Archetypes (??) now shifted to discussing:
"Do females really have higher adaptability to Honkai?"
"Or is it just natural selection?"
Only in Honkai 3rd could players spin out discussions like these with such imagination.
...
Back to the plot.
As Yutu explained Archetypes, Mei interjected:
"...So the Stigmata Plan is about creating beings like you—somewhere between humans and stigmata?"
"Mhm, exactly." Yutu blinked. "As expected of you, Mei."
Another very Elysia-like line.
Also—was Mei the first to be praised again?
Clearly suspicious...
[Why does it feel like everyone treats Mei well?]
[Even Mobius was weirdly kind to Mei.]
[Confirmed: Mei is Honkai's Supreme Queen.]
[Objection! Shouldn't that be Elysia?]
[Elysia loves everyone. Ai-men~♪]
"But..."
Yutu changed tone:
"We are merely the means, not the end."
What did she mean by that?
Essentially: Archetypes were created to serve the Stigmata Plan in surpassing Finality.
They were tools, not the purpose.
If something else—say, "X-type"—could better surpass Finality, the plan would abandon Archetypes immediately.
To help Kiana's team better understand—
Yutu transmitted a series of Archetype conversations into their minds.
A string of strange voices echoed in their heads:
"Until the Stigmata Plan is complete, humans still have a chance to halt it and find a better alternative."
"That idea is absurd—like trying to teach ants on a sheet of paper to prove the Poincaré conjecture!"
"Poincaré? My creators didn't program that into me."
"Humans can't overcome anything... and neither can we. That's the only truth they taught me."
"Until the Stigmata Plan is complete..."
These voices—
Did not bring comfort.
Rather...
[These Archetypes feel... chaotic.]
[Well, they're still incomplete. Can't expect too much.]
[At least they've perfectly inherited humanity's essence. (dog emoji)]
[The essence of humanity?]
[A repeater~~]
...
Bronya remarked:
"Rather than conversation... it's more like they're just repeating the same things."
Yutu reassured her:
"No rush."
And then—
She sent more voices.
This time: despair, surrender, fear...
All incomprehensible obsessions, madness, negativity.
Compared to before, these voices were deeply unsettling.
It was becoming increasingly clear—Archetypes were not what the girls had imagined.
Still, the mechanism behind their formation was fascinating.
Apparently—they formed by absorbing civilizational information.
Not just from the present, but from history as well.
"All historical culture... anything created by humanity... can become nourishment for stigmata."
"Doesn't that remind you of something else?"
Yutu said this while looking directly at Bronya.
What she was referring to was obvious.
[She means the Herrscher of Reason's core, right?]
[Now that you mention it—they're really similar.]
[Why do I feel like Yutu has some complicated feelings toward the Herrscher of Reason?]
Indeed—
Yutu's attention to the Herrscher of Reason had been unusually high.
After all, aren't Herrschers of Reason and Archetypes... similar in nature?
Plus, Yutu and the current Reason Herrscher Bronya shared an... ambiguous connection.
Step-mom (bushi).
Cough cough.
Back on topic—
So far, it felt like Yutu had completely taken control of the conversation.
Everyone had fallen into her pace.
Was that really true?
All of them?
Not quite.
Mei, who had perfected the art of dealing with cryptic NPCs during the Elysian Realm trials—had something to say.
"You may have gathered many human consciousness fragments."
She got straight to the point.
With mysterious figures, there's no point dancing around.
And you had to strike at the core.
Otherwise, they'd just say—
"You're not yet qualified to know."
Mei had learned the hard way from dealing with Kevin.
"If I can talk to Kevin and live... you think I'm scared of you, Yutu?"
"One thing has always confused me from the beginning...
Why does the Stigmata Plan allow you to resist Finality?"
"Ah... you've misunderstood, Mei."
Yutu shook her head.
"Strictly speaking, the Stigmata Plan isn't meant to resist Finality."
"The end point of the plan... you might call it embrace."
"...Embrace?"
Mei: DNA activated.
She remembered—somewhere in the Elysian Realm, Elysia had once told Mobius:
"The destination of the Origin Herrscher is a cocoon of chaos—like a chrysalis awaiting rebirth."
"It tells us that all we've endured... was never judgment or trial, but a gentle embrace."
"Oh my, Mei. Sounds like you've heard of this before?"
Yutu smiled, eyes on Mei, whose reaction clearly stood out.
"As warriors against Honkai—you must wonder where Finality came from?"
Wait—what?
Yutu knows the origin of Finality?
[Then hurry up and spit it out already!!]
[Who wouldn't want to know? It's FINALITY!]
[Maybe she's a cute girl too (lol)]
[Finality's gotta be a six-armed tiger-backed beast—beyond description.]
Players' curiosity shot to max.
But...
Yutu said instead:
"To tell that story... we'll need to change locations."
"Make sure you keep up."
She'd hooked their attention—and now she was reeling them in.
[Bronya hates people who only say half a sentence.]
Regardless of complaints—
Yutu turned and blinked away.
Game returned to free-roam mode.
A mission prompt guided players to go find Yutu.
[...]
[Why does she get to blink away stylishly while we have to walk around the whole map?]
Well—because many crucial narrative points still needed to be delivered.
As players advanced, they'd periodically hear more Archetype voices.
The first one said:
"The complete Archetype—the complete us—shall be the apex of evolution, a new lifeform."
Kiana: "..."
Kiana silently: You guys don't have your own lines?
If Herrscher of Sentience were here, she'd be popping off again.
Like—
"What is wrong with all of you?"
It lacked a bit of comedic chaos.
A shame...
After all, Sentience is to Honkai 3rd,
as Red Kite is to Phoenix.
Don't you agree, Master?
