MGSFV?! Chapter 488 – Such a Cute Girl Must Be Me; Galactic Strategy Adventure

Elysia looked at the successful screenshot preview. The adorable girl on screen—she was far too familiar with her. Because every morning when she brushed her teeth and looked in the mirror—there she was.

So... there was no way she could be mistaken.

"A girl this, this, this cute..."

This, this, this cute? You're doing it on purpose, aren't you?

"Must be me, right?"

Hokuto: "..."

"But... why is there a clip of me?"

Another doubt rose in Elysia's mind. She squinted at the preview image, her gaze shifting to the prop held in her in-game hand.

"And... I'm holding a little megaphone?"

Yes. In that brief flash earlier, the Elysia in the video—although it was unclear why—was clearly holding a megaphone, which was quite intriguing.

So... why?

"Ah—could that scene be a flashback from Mei? But if Mei's thinking of Elysia, and the first thing she remembers is a scene with a megaphone...?"

"Looks like that moment—'Miss Mei who knocked out Mobius in one punch,' and the one about 'I really wanna touch her horns'—really left a deep impression on her."

"Or maybe..." Hokuto couldn't help interjecting, "...not a deep impression, but a psychological shadow?"

"That's unlikely, right?" Elysia blinked. "It was just touching her horns. I didn't even flinch when Mei touched my ears."

"You got touched... oh, you mean in the game."

Hokuto remembered—there was such a scene in-game. What had Elysia said back then?

"Can we use touching my ears as the condition for touching my horns?" "Come on~ I won't let you down, promise?" "How's it feel? Am I even more bashful than you imagined?" "—But you're even more bashful than I am."

Come to think of it... he really wrote those lines and actually put them in-game... how shameless.

...

"So then, 'Otto'-san, aren't you going to explain why Elysia is holding a megaphone here?"

"Stay tuned."

"Knew you'd say that..."

"Mhm~"

Elysia realized Hokuto was the same as ever—no matter how hard you pressed, you wouldn't get anything out of him. After all, by now... so many bizarre events had already happened. Yet despite it all! Not a single person had ever successfully pried future plot details out of Hokuto.

With that in mind—Elysia replayed the video she had just finished analyzing.

The timeline reached the moment just after "Elysia" flashed onscreen. The scene cut to a deep, multicolored starfield. Mei stood at its center, looking around. Suddenly! A brilliantly radiant pink crystal flower appeared. It flew in from afar, circled around Mei once, and then, under her gaze, darted off again—until it completely disappeared into that kaleidoscopic darkness.

What did it mean? Honestly, it was hard to interpret. But... the video didn't seem interested in giving them time to think. A massive claw burst from the darkness and slammed down on the platform. Looking at the architecture, it seemed to be the same "satellite" interior where Kevin had been earlier.

Then... where was Kevin?

And that short video came to an end. After it ended—Elysia didn't immediately speak.

"Hmm..."

"Hm? Got something to say again?" Hokuto responded.

"Besides realizing that Mei seems to be okay, I feel like I watched something... and also kinda didn't watch anything."

"...Ah, well." Hokuto was momentarily speechless. "There's a lot of major info in that video. You'll understand later."

"Later, huh? Fine, fine—'stay tuned,' I get it."

Elysia responded and then turned to address her stream viewers: "Although someone gave us a major cliffhanger, let's be fair. Cliffhangers are for complaining—but these past few chapters were packed with sugar. That deserves praise."

[Miss Pink Elf has a point—these chapters really were sweet... aside from the ending.]

[Yeah, aside from the ending. If Mei hadn't shown up safe in the video, I would've already set out for the developer's office with a knife.]

[Lucky you didn't.]

One comment floated by in chat.

[Why???]

Naturally, someone asked.

[Because... in the story, Otto seems scholarly and calm—never fights—but he's actually very strong. Most Valkyries aren't even his match.]

Someone earnestly explained in chat.

...

"'Otto'-san, seems like everyone's expressing their very 'sincere' gratitude to you."

"...Sincere? Gratitude?"

Hokuto paused. The chat's "blunt and unabashed" tone might qualify as sincere, but whether it counted as gratitude... was debatable.

"Well then, that's the end of today's stream." Elysia glanced at the clock. "Thanks everyone for spending this joyful time with me. See you next time~"

As the final lines of chat scrolled by, Hokuto exited the stream. But he hadn't ended the call with Elysia yet.

"Elysia, thanks for your hard work."

"Mm, today's stream was so long—I'm a little tired, yeah."

"Heh." Hokuto chuckled softly. "Then go rest for now. If you don't recover, I'll feel bad calling you in to voice lines at the studio later."

"Voice lines? So I do have more upcoming content?" Elysia instantly picked up on the detail.

"Yeah, and it's quite a bit of text," Hokuto answered without hiding it. Upon hearing that, Elysia immediately perked up.

"Then I'll come record right now!"

Hokuto: "... Didn't you just say you were tired?"

"The energy to read scripts is stored in a different body!"

...

The final moments of the day passed in the pleasant warmth of a team dinner. Unknowingly, it became the next day.

Elysia showed up right on time—like she was part of the staff.

"Elysia, you're early." Kiana, swinging her long ponytail as she walked by, noticed Elysia skillfully sneaking in and blinked.

"I thought about it carefully last night... The upcoming scenes might involve me and Mei again... I think it'll be a really good arc~♪" Elysia didn't even look to see who she was talking to.

Kiana: "..."

Just then, Elysia turned her head. "Oh, it's you, Kiana—cough, Kiana, good morning~♪ Talk later, I'm going to find Hokuto."

She strode off toward Hokuto's office. Kiana shook her head and turned to another hallway.

Meanwhile, on Elysia's side—she arrived outside Hokuto's office and knocked. But before she could even finish, the door opened by itself.

"Hmm?"

Elysia caught faint bits of conversation. Hokuto... was talking with Raven?

"I finished writing it. Here—have a look." Raven stood in front of the desk, handing over a script.

"Raven, you..." Hokuto took it, "...What is this for?"

"Didn't I say yesterday—I want to design a new game," Raven replied earnestly.

"Hmm... you mean '100SP'?" Hokuto asked hesitantly.

"'100SP'?! Absolutely not!" Raven cut him off flatly. "The game I want to make has nothing to do with that."

Raven added: "In my game, Natasha only needs 90s. That ridiculous 100SP? I'll make sure it stays in the past... hmph."

Was this denial... or self-deception? Hokuto couldn't help but wonder. But why did Raven's idea sound oddly familiar? He lowered his head and flipped through Raven's proposal. It was very detailed.

"Turn-based? Galactic strategy-adventure game?"

"That's right. So, what do you think of my proposal?"

"Hm..."
