Chapter 99 - Chapter 88: Bill Gets a Bird

Weeks had gone by, and Bill had already taken care of the Fallen Angels—killing Kokabiel and his minions—and even helped Kiba find the closure he'd been seeking. Now, he found himself seated at a grand table with the Four Satans, Michael, and Azazel. The atmosphere in the room was calm but carried a sense of weighty importance.

Azazel leaned back in his chair, a curious smirk tugging at his lips. "So, our new God is incredibly hands-on and wants to help us—but not do everything for us?"

Bill nodded slightly, resting his elbows on the table. "That's about right," he replied evenly. "He prefers to give people the tools they need to fix the problem themselves. Says it would be too boring to just wave his hand and make all the bad stuff go away."

Azazel chuckled softly and nodded in approval. "I can respect that. And from what you've said, he wants me, a few people from my faction, and a few devils to go to this Chaldea place—to help stop the destruction of humanity in another universe?"

"That's the plan," Bill confirmed with a faint smile.

Azazel stroked his chin thoughtfully for a moment before grinning. "Oh, what the hell—I'm game. How about you, Vali?"

The young silver-haired man standing behind him folded his arms and flashed a cocky grin. "Yeah, sounds like a blast. When do we leave?"

Bill gave him an approving nod. "After the youth devil competition."

Michael's calm, serene voice carried through the room next. "Wonderful. From our side, we've already dispatched Gabriel, and from what I understand, another version of Castiel is there as well."

Azazel smirked and shook his head with mock exasperation. "Oh, God Castiel! Well, I just hope this version isn't as uptight and boring."

Michael gave him a disapproving glance but maintained his gentle tone. "Azazel, our brother is a wonderful person. Now, as I was saying—I'll also be sending Irina and Xenovia. They're new angels, and it will be good for them to gain some real experience."

Sirzechs folded his hands on the table and added, his voice calm and composed, "And from our side, we're sending Serafall, Kiba, and Sairaorg."

Bill tilted his head slightly toward him. "Your sister gonna be okay without her knight?"

Sirzechs smiled faintly, a touch of amusement in his eyes. "Yes. Miss Schnee and Miss Belladonna have volunteered to act as her knights until Kiba returns—with the understanding that it's only temporary."

Serafall let out a dramatic sigh, crossing her arms in mild frustration. "I'm upset that I'll be away from my dear Sona for so long," she said, pouting slightly before her expression brightened again. "But this isn't an opportunity I can pass up!"

Bill leaned back in his chair, stretching slightly before glancing around the table. "Alright, with that settled, are we just waiting on the Old Satan Faction to attack, or what's going on with that?" he asked, his tone casual but laced with curiosity.

Sirzechs gave a calm smile, folding his hands together on the table. "Oh, once you mentioned that they were planning an attack on the peace conference, we went ahead and dealt with them," he explained smoothly. "Some of the older devils objected, of course—but we tossed your name around, and they immediately shut up. No one wants to fight a Horseman."

Bill raised an eyebrow, a faint smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. "Huh. Not bad," he said, sounding mildly impressed. "So I guess I'll see all of you in a week in the Underworld."

Everyone stood, shaking hands and exchanging brief farewells before leaving the room. As Bill exited into the quiet corridor, his two cats appeared from seemingly out of nowhere, landing gracefully on his shoulders.

Kuroka yawned softly, her tail's swaying lazily. "So we're stuck here for a few more weeks, nya?" she purred, her eyes glancing his way.

"Yeah," Bill replied with a small smile, walking at a relaxed pace through the hall. "But it'll go by quick, I promise."

Shirone, perched on his other shoulder frowned slightly. "I hope so. I wanna see some other worlds soon."

Bill chuckled quietly, his hand brushing one of their tails as he continued down the hall. After a short stroll, he pushed open the door to the Occult Research Club and made his way inside. Taking a seat on one of the couches, he leaned back and exhaled softly—only to notice a girl standing nervously across from him.

She had long blonde hair styled into elegant, drill-like twin tails, and her sharp blue eyes watched him with polite hesitation. Dressed neatly in a Kuoh Academy uniform, she bowed quickly. "Good day, Sir Strife. I am Ravel Phoenix. It's a pleasure to meet you."

Bill smiled warmly, his voice gentle but confident. "Good to meet you too, little lady."

A moment later, the door opened again, and Rias entered the room with her peerage following close behind. Her face lit up when she saw him. "Bill, you're back! How'd the peace conference go?"

Bill leaned back slightly, a faint grin forming on his lips. "We got it sorted out." His gaze shifted toward Kiba, his tone turning serious. "You sure about going to another world, kid? You know it's gonna be dangerous—no games this time. Just fighting and death."

Kiba met his gaze without hesitation, his expression firm and eyes steady. "I'm positive, Sir Strife. I know I can do this. I have no idea what the future will hold, but if powerful enemies appear later, I want to be able to defeat them."

Bill nodded, his expression softening slightly. "Alright. If you're determined, I won't talk you out of it."

Turning back to Rias, he continued, "The Boss is gonna let you and Sona take your peerages to some other places that need help in the future."

Rias's eyes widened in excitement. "Really? We can go to other worlds?"

"'Course you can," Bill replied with a smirk. "But don't get too excited—they won't all be good ones. The Boss has me and the other Horsemen for emergency situations, his Apostles for important but less time-sensitive missions, and now he's got you and several others for everything else."

Rias's excitement didn't fade in the slightest. "Well, it's still exciting to go to another world."

"Yeah," Bill agreed with a nostalgic tone. "It is something else. My first world wasn't anything fancy—it was just another version of Earth, with lamer monsters."

Issei made a face, his tone half-joking. "That does sound lame."

Bill chuckled, shaking his head. "Yeah, well, don't let Sam hear you say that—it's his Earth." He rose from the couch, giving the group a final glance. "You lot better start getting prepared for the tournament in a week."

With that, he turned and walked out, his two feline companions resting comfortably on his shoulders as the door closed behind him.

As Bill walked through the halls and stepped outside the building, he caught movement from the corner of his eye. Glancing subtly to the side, he noticed Ravel following him—doing her best to stay hidden behind trees, bushes, and even lampposts.

Kuroka let out a soft chuckle, her tail flicking lazily. "Her family must've told her to get close to you, nya," she purred, amusement clear in her tone.

Shirone, perched on his other shoulder, said. "Does the dumb bird really think we don't know she's there?" she muttered, her eyes narrowing.

Bill sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Kuroka, what happens if she fails to get close to me?" he asked, his tone carrying a mix of curiosity and mild concern.

Kuroka raised her chin thoughtfully, ears twitching. "Best case? Her standing in the family falls. Worst case? She gets married off to another noble. I don't know much about the Phoenix family, but those are the typical punishments, nya."

"Damn it," Bill muttered under his breath. He came to a stop and turned sharply on his heels. "Ravel, I know you're there."

The girl, who had been crouched awkwardly behind a mailbox, froze. Slowly, she stepped out, clearing her throat and trying to maintain her composure. "Good evening, Sir Strife. What a coincidence," she said, her voice just a bit too bright.

"Yeah, no," Bill said dryly, crossing his arms. "I know you were following me—and I'm pretty sure you were ordered to. But I'm not heartless enough to send you packing, so here's the deal. You're my assistant from now on. So stop acting like a stalker and come walk with me."

Ravel blinked, stunned for a moment. Then her face lit up in a mix of surprise and joy. "Yes, sir!" she said eagerly, running to catch up and falling into step beside him.

Shirone sighed in resignation. "Great. Now we've got a bird hanging around us," she mumbled.

Kuroka chuckled, a teasing glint in her eyes. "Oh, don't be like that. I promise she'll be the last, nya."

Bill shot her a sideways look, clearly unconvinced. "Not sure how I feel about you two deciding that she's gonna be part of whatever the hell our relationship is."

Kuroka's grin widened. "It's basically a foregone conclusion, Master. The girl may not have feelings for you yet, but she will in time—and you're too much of a softie to turn her away, nya."

Bill let out a long sigh of defeat as they finally reached his temporary mansion—the grand estate the Gremory family had provided for him. With Ravel trailing happily behind and his two cats perched on his shoulders, he pushed open the door and stepped inside, resigned to the chaos that seemed to follow him everywhere.

(Authors Note:Yes I'm making Ravel Bills third servant 1 because I always liked the dynamic between koneko and ravel two because that's one less girl for Issei and three cause I want to but don't worry that's it )
