Chapter 149 - Marcus Side Story Part 7

Marcus and Inner Moka had just finished their usual sparring session, both of them catching their breath as the tension slowly bled from the air.

"So what's up with you? You seem kind of out of it," Moka said curiously, tilting her head as she studied him.

"Well, aside from you, there really isn't anyone I can fight," Marcus replied with a weary sigh. "And you and I can't even go all out, because we have no intention of killing each other."

"I know what you mean. It does suck not being able to fight as much as I want," Moka said with a hint of frustration. "Even now, I have to keep our sparring sessions short. I risk breaking the seal permanently otherwise. But at least I've grown stronger these past few months since I've known you," she added, her tone softening with understanding.

"Why do you have to stay sealed anyway?" Marcus asked, glancing at her.

"I told you before, I can't remember," Moka replied, her brows knitting slightly. "I just know it's important. Something bad will happen if I don't. Anyway, enough about me. Have you noticed your stalker or not?" she added, pointing toward the treeline.

Both of them turned their gaze to where a young woman stood partially hidden behind a tree. She had long purple hair, light blue eyes, and snow-white skin. She wore a white shirt with blue sleeves that hung loosely off one shoulder, an academy skirt, purple-and-pink striped stockings, and white tennis shoes. A gold locket rested against her chest, and a lollipop sat between her lips as she stared at Marcus with a shy smile and a noticeable blush.

"Oh, her? Yeah. She's been following me for a couple of weeks now, but she's harmless," Marcus said casually, shrugging.

"I know you're there! Why not come out and say hi?" Moka shouted toward the trees.

The girl jumped at being called out so suddenly, nearly dropping her lollipop, but after a moment she gathered her courage and stepped into the clearing.

"Hi, Marcus. I'm Shirayuki Mizore," the girl said shyly, her voice soft as she avoided direct eye contact.

"I know you. You're the girl that's been absent for a while," Marcus said, recognition dawning on his face.

"Oh, yeah. I haven't been feeling well, but I'll be in class starting today," Mizore replied, nervously swaying back and forth with a blush and a timid smile.

Moka watched the interaction closely, her expression darkening into a faint frown.

"Marcus, why don't you go on ahead? Mizore and I have something we need to talk about," Moka said seriously, her tone leaving little room for argument.

"You guys just met. What could you possibly need to talk about?" Marcus asked, clearly confused.

"Oh, just girl stuff," Mizore said just as seriously, glaring at Moka without blinking.

Marcus shrugged, deciding not to question it further, and headed off toward class, leaving the two girls standing there, locked in a silent glare as the air between them grew tense.

------

After Marcus left, Moka and Mizore stood facing one another, the air between them tightening like a drawn wire. Their glares locked, neither willing to look away. Slowly, Mizore raised her hands, and massive, claw-like blades of ice formed around her fingers, glittering sharply in the light.

"Oh, you're prepared to fight. Good," Moka said with a confident smirk. "I know a little bit about snow woman culture, and I know that, just like succubi, once you've chosen a partner, you'll kill any woman that goes after them."

"That's right," Mizore replied coldly, her voice sharp as the ice she wielded. "Which is why you and the other two have to die."

"Well, you see, among us vampires, it's not uncommon for strong men to have multiple wives," Moka said calmly as she stepped closer, her presence pressing in on Mizore. "I myself grew up in a harem household, and I don't see Marcus picking one of us and telling the others to hit the road."

"So what are you saying?" Mizore asked, lowering her stance and readying herself to fight, her icy claws flexing.

"Marcus doesn't know, but I've already approached Kurumu, and the two of us have a little agreement," Moka explained evenly. "You can pursue Marcus if you want, but it has to be with his consent. And you must always remember that I'm number one. Not you, not Kurumu, and not the outer one. Yukari doesn't count right now, since she's too young to actually be a threat."

"What if I don't want you to be number one," Mizore hissed venomously, "or for there to be a harem at all?"

"Simple," Moka replied without hesitation, her confidence unshaken. "You just gotta beat me. Do that, and I'll give up."

"Good. Then let's do this," Mizore said, launching herself forward in a burst of icy speed.

Moka remained where she was, a confident grin spreading across her face as she waited.

-------

As class started, outer Moka walked in cheerfully, her usual bright smile in place, and took her seat behind Marcus with an easy confidence. Immediately after, Mizore entered the room with her shoulders slumped and a pout tugging at her lips. She paused beside her desk and muttered sadly, "I lost."

A gentle hand came to rest on her shoulder. Mizore turned and found Kurumu standing there, offering her a soft, reassuring smile.

"I lost too. Don't worry about it," Kurumu said kindly. "And before you start thinking you can get stronger and beat her one day, you need to remember that she and Marcus spar daily, and she gets stronger every time," she explained calmly.

"Oh well, at least I tried," Mizore said with a small sigh as she took her seat in front of Marcus.

"The hell is all that about?" Marcus asked, glancing between them with a deeply confused expression.

"Don't worry about it," Moka, Mizore, and Kurumu said in unison.

That only succeeded in making Marcus look even more confused as class finally settled into silence.

(Authors Note: God I really do put these in to often anyway sorry for the short chapter it's surprisingly harder to do Rosario Vampire without a weak protag as ninety percent of the reason for all the danger just goes away.Anyway the main reason I'm making an announcement is to say I've noticed that majority of my negative comments and reviews lately have been either lack of story development or lack of games I'm sorry those people feel that way but my protag is chaotic and if I made the story only games all the time nothing would get done that said I am thinking about adding a new world soon and making a new cast of characters play something but I'd like to hear my readers thoughts on the subject and if I were to go forward with it what world do you guys want to see just don't pick game of thrones I don't remember a damn thing that's why it hasn't been featured)
