Eve POV
Okay, so it was official—I had somehow managed to turn nothing into a disaster.
I'd been hopeful. Maybe it wasn't the best idea to think a baby dragon could warm a pool of water with its tiny little fire-breathing lungs, but the concept seemed solid. I even tried to make a game out of it, cooing at the little dragons to blow their fire at the water. They had a blast, of course. Each time a stream of flame shot from the smallest one's nose, they looked at me with their innocent, wide eyes, as if they were truly doing me a favor. But the water, of course, remained as cold as ever. No matter how many times they sneezed fire at it.
