As one of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s headquarters, this floating battleship hovers year-round in the sky except for necessary supplies, in order to rush to any corner of the world at any time and place to stop evil organizations like Hydra.
S.H.I.E.L.D. has a long history, tracing back to ancient Egypt thousands of years ago. A great hero led Earthlings to repel an alien invasion from the Insect Race, and his shield was used as a symbol to establish a secret organization to guard against major threats. Prominent historical members include Da Vinci, Galileo, Newton, and members from the 20th century such as Iron Man's father Howard Stark and Mr. Fantastic's father Nathaniel Richards.
Currently, the leader of S.H.I.E.L.D., Nick Fury, is a black man with an eye patch.
