When Perfikot awoke, she had already been transferred back to her own bedroom.
The fire burning in the fireplace provided the room with ample warmth. The designed flue surrounded the entire room, allowing the heat to circulate within the walls before exiting the house, rather than simply venting straight through a vertical chimney, which would cause great waste.
This made Perfikot feel somewhat hot, as she was covered with at least two layers of thick downy bedding.
"Beifa, I need some water." Turning her head, Perfikot saw her head maid standing by the bedside, prompting her to make a slight call.
The long period of slumber had left her throat very dry, making it difficult to produce sound.
Beifa heard Perfikot's voice and swiftly poured her a glass of clear water, bringing it to her.
After drinking the water from the cup, Perfikot finally felt a bit better, so she asked, "How long have I slept?"
