"You're still awake?"
"It's none of your business," Eva said irritably, her back turned to Adam.
"Yes, yes, I promise to 'mind' you in the future."
"Idiot, is there something wrong with your ears?"
"Nope, I have a lot of confidence in my hearing."
As soon as the words left his mouth, a pillow was thrown forcefully by Eva. Adam caught it with a grin and lay down on his own bed.
"Thanks for your concern, my pillow was just snatched by Tokke."
"Hmph!" Eva responded with a cold snort.
Adam lay on the pillow that smelled like a cat, staring at the ceiling using his Blood Race night vision.
Lying on the bed, he swayed gently with the ship's rocking. To these children, the rhythmic motion was like the best lullaby.
"How long have you been on this ship?" Eva's voice came through the darkness.
"Hmm, let me think. Back then, I was just a kid, well, I guess I'm still kind of a kid now.
