Many thick branches twisted and intertwined, appearing in rusty dark brown or ink green, with massive tree crowns blocking large portions of the sky, where the light was sparse and murky.
The forest was not silent; one could vaguely see many massive shadows swiftly moving and disappearing, accompanied by the occasional dull roar or sharp screech from unidentifiable creatures.
