A large part of the value of history lies in warning future generations.
After all, humans are forgetful creatures.
If not constantly reminded, who knows when they'll forget.
The two of them probably spent more than two hours touring the Yuanming Garden, then took a cab to the Great Wall.
The current significance of the Great Wall is to showcase the crystallized wisdom of our ancient laborers, who paid a huge price to build it.
Although today isn't a major holiday, it's a weekend.
On weekends, there are plenty of people.
Plus, with nice weather, people from all over the country are eager to visit.
A large portion of them are middle-aged and elderly people.
Many feel exhausted climbing the Great Wall, unable to continue, or can't go far.
For Lin Xi and Zhu Ying, they had no such feeling.
The two climbed quite far on both sides of the Great Wall, so far that the dense crowds became sparse, only occasionally seeing a guy or girl with a backpack.
