The currents in the passage ahead grew increasingly turbulent. The way they surged no longer resembled anything on the open sea. Instead, it was like rapids in a mountain gorge below a waterfall; surrounding waves constantly smashed against each other, flowing rapidly forward. On the sea, the Sound of Dawn pitched and rolled violently, occasionally tossed into the air by a wave, only to slam back down. This violent motion made everyone onboard quite uncomfortable. The ship's sturdiness was truly being tested.
"We're almost there! Everyone, hang on!" Alka shouted, his waist secured by a rope.
They had been navigating these turbulent currents for the better part of the day. It had been like this since before daybreak.
"Why are these currents getting so much stronger?" Jason couldn't help but shout.
