When Len howled from afar, Claude figured Len was calling his attention. He would have dared to reveal himself to save Jane, but Eugene acted on his own. The next best thing for Claude to do was to make sure Mylene would get away scot-free. However, the concealed hunters were all waiting for the wolves to attack. When the smoke covered the stage, they didn't hesitate to shoot.
At least seven innocent men could have been killed. Yet, they cared nonetheless.
Claude would have run to the stage. However, Jameson jumped into the smoke to help Jane escape. Irving had also cleared a path for them to leave. More older Gammas and Epsilons joined Len's siege. It might have left a bad taste, but Claude cared too little. He would prioritize his wolves.
"Mylene, Sean, let's bounce." Claude carried Mylene in his arms without another sound. Mylene even yelped as her feet left the ground in an instant.
