Brandon's POV
"Chloe!"
The name tore out of me before I even registered moving. One second she was there—frozen in the doorway, eyes wide with something I couldn't even begin to name—and the next she was gone.
My body reacted before my brain could catch up.
I shoved past the restroom door, my heart slamming violently against my ribs, adrenaline coursing through my veins like fire. "Chloe, wait!"
She didn't.
She didn't even look back.
Her steps were fast—too fast—and by the time I hit the hallway, she was already halfway through the dining area, weaving through tables and chairs like she was running from something chasing her.
Or someone.
Me.
"Chloe!" I called again, louder this time, ignoring the stares from people around us. None of that mattered. Nothing mattered except catching up to her, explaining—God, I didn't even know what I was going to say, but I needed to say something.
Anything.
Just not let her walk away like this.
