Brandon's POV:
Ashley stood frozen.
The moment we turned toward her, everything inside me dropped.
She looked exhausted.
Really exhausted.
Her hair had been loosely pinned up like she'd done it in a rush hours ago and forgotten about it. A few strands had escaped and clung stubbornly to her cheeks. She still carried several outfits hanging over her arm, garment bags draped carelessly against her side.
For a second, nobody moved.
Nobody even breathed.
I stared directly at her face, trying desperately to read her expression.
Trying to figure out one thing.
How much did she hear?
Because from the look on her face...
It seemed like she'd heard more than she was supposed to.
Questions immediately started flying from every direction.
"Ashley?" Seth asked carefully. "What are you doing here?"
I barely looked at him.
I asked the thing that terrified me most.
"Ashley..." I swallowed hard. "How long have you been standing there?"
Garrett made things worse.
