We arrived back at the villa just as the sun was setting, painting the sky in shades of orange and pink. Katya had stayed behind to handle some business, so it was just me and Viktor.

"I'm fine," I snapped. "You can go now."
"You're not fine," he said flatly.
"I said I'm fine." My voice was sharper now, edged with frustration. "Go stand outside. Do your job. Leave me alone."
He didn't move. Just studied me with that infuriating calm.
