The time quickly moved to the end of 1923. The governments of Germany and Austria-Hungary finally withstood the Russian offensive. Both sides achieved a temporary military balance in regions such as Poland and Ukraine. Despite heavy casualties, the Russians were unable to break through the new defensive lines established in Poland and Ukraine.
In fact, starting from August, due to the reasons of previous wars, the successive defeats of armies in Poland, Ukraine, and countries like Germany and Austria, gave the Russian Labor Party the illusion that "imperialism" was vulnerable.
Then, in the ensuing months, the Russian government more actively stationed troops at the borders, hoping to restore the lands originally belonging to the Tsarist Russia era.
However, reality hit Russia hard. With the support of the people in Poland and Western Ukraine, the intervention armies and the national armies of Poland and Ukraine turned the tide despite being vastly outnumbered by Russian forces.
