As we finally reach apartment, i flop onto the couch like my bones have dissolved, letting out the deepest sigh of my miserable little existence. The door clicks shut and Jiang locks it, then glances back at me with that soft, clueless expression he always wears when he's trying to "read" human moods.
"Yuyu must be with Zeyan right now… right?" he asks as he comes over and sits on the floor beside me, legs crossed, looking up like some oversized golden retriever.
"Hmm… maybe. Yeah. He should've arrived by now," I reply, rubbing my face. My brain is mush. My soul is mush. My entire being is just… mush.
Jiang tilts his head. "Should I make something to eat?"
I sit up just a little, narrow my eyes at him. "No. Not alone. That's risky. Let me supervise you."
He blinks, confused but obedient. "Risky how?"
I give him a dry stare. "You once burned water, Jiang. Water."
He looks personally offended. "It was an accident!"
