Chapter 126 - Chapter 8 Epilogue

Harry and Draco are walking towards the platform 9 3/4 at Kings Cross station. They had returned to England from their holiday just the previous day. As most holidays they had been in Romania in the mansion they had once used as a safe house where James had been born and Eileen had spent most of her first year. Despite the fear Draco had often felt there during that year and the longing for Harry during that time, Draco had grown fond of the mansion. Harry also loved it because it's still as protected and just a save place from the press that he still can't stand. Both still love England too much to just move there completely and they now have a rather big cottage in the countryside at the south-west of England just by the coast, which has the same protections. It's been about ten years since Voldemort died and Eileen is eleven years old and going to Hogwarts for the first time. She's really looking forward to it and talked about nothing else for days. Her fathers are happy for her but at the same time will miss her terribly. Harry already knows that Draco will use every chance to go there that he can get. Despite her request to leave her the bloody hell alone. Draco has his father's old position on the board of governors since Lucius was sentenced to get a dementors kiss after the war had ended. He, along with some other death eaters, was one of the last to get that punishment before Hermione managed to outlaw the practice.

Draco hadn't seen his father before he had been kissed. His physical body is now taken care of at St. Mungos, but Draco hasn't been there either. He has no interest to see the man who sold him out to Voldemort just to safe his own skin. He's just happy that Lucius hadn't gotten around to go to Gringotts and officially renounce his son. That way Draco could claim all the Malfoy assets after his father's punishment. Lucius is now as good as dead and such the goblins treat him like dead and Draco inherited everything.

Narcissa hadn't seen her husband either. Her marriage had been arranged and there had never been any love towards her husband who cheated on her almost daily. She had always been a proper pureblood lady but after she was finally free she started to get more relaxed. Eventually, she and Harry's father, who was as alone as Narcissa, decided to live in one house to ensure neither would be alone, just as friends of course. Draco and Harry had no problem with it especially since the fact that both had their own bedrooms seemed to prove that they really are just friends and both could use the company.

Harry and Draco's much younger half-sister that was born three tears after their own daughter Eileen, proved the claim that they are just friends a lie though! At first, it had been a bit strange that they both, being a married couple, had a half-sister in common. Still, Narcissa deserved to find happiness as much as Severus did so neither ever complained and the did get used to it. They even got used to it before the birth of their half-brother two years after their sister was born.

Severus also is much closer to Harry by now, though not nearly as close as to his younger children with Narcissa. Harry always calls him dad, or granddad when his own kids are around, and Severus is invited to all major family celebrations that a father should be invited too. They also visit each other occasionally without any reason. just to spend some time together and due to it, Severus has a close bond to his three grandchildren as well. Harry hasn't entirely forgotten the way Severus had treated him in the past but he also hasn't forgotten how often his father had saved him. And that even before Severus knew that Harry is his son. Harry hadn't forgotten the bad things, but he has forgiven his dad everything and they can now even joke about it on occasion.

Narcissa and Severus still have separate bedrooms. Both preferring to have someplace to retreat to where the other won't enter uninvited. Both needing their privacy and alone time on occasion. Severus also has his lab to retreat to, where he also works as a freelance brewer, and Narcissa has an office as her own domain. She is now a working mother and to Harry's dismay is working for the daily prophet. The upside is that she only writes about Harry when he gave her his permission to write about it. The downside is, she annoys him until she has said permission for everything she finds out about him. Which is why Harry is very happy that she has no idea where their second set of wedding rings come from. She believes it to be a promise to make a more binding wedding ritual at some point. So far though they haven't gotten around to do that.

Draco and Harry are content with the knowledge that they are bound to each other for all eternity no matter what they do. They also had planned to wait until they finished their NEWT's and while doing that, Draco had gotten pregnant with his third child. When he found out he nearly hexed Harry's balls right off. He was sick of being pregnant. Harry managed to calm him by promising to learn a contraceptive spell from his father before their third child was born. They had decided to wait with any wedding arrangements until the kids would be older and then just never talked about it again.

Both had thought about it when they prepared their tenth wedding university but neither really voiced their thoughts on it. Thinking that it doesn't really matter anyway. They are bound together either way and they are happy. And making a soulbond and causing silver sparks to fly would only make people wonder what couple they were. Draco's doubts at the start would lead some to the belief that Harry is Merlin's reincarnation. Something the goblins luckily kept a secret though Harry goes down to that vault regularly to take books out and return the previous ones.

Doing their NEWT's and raise their children isn't the only thing the couple has done since Voldemort's downfall. Draco has more or less started to do everything his father had once done, just without the illegal sides. He goes in and out of the ministry and visits different high ranking persons to try and sway them to do things the way he thinks are right. He can be very persuasive and with a mother working for the daily prophet he occasionally also gets them in trouble when they don't. Hermione, who by now is the Minister of Magic, is often annoyed with his interference but in general, she does enjoy their arguments. Draco at least is much more intelligent than most of the others that try to influence her and he's usually at least trying to do the right thing and she often has to agree with him anyway. Apart from that Draco manages their wealth, his own and his husbands. He oversees the renting and upkeeping of their various properties as well as all their investments. Harry has little patience or interest in it and had no idea what to do anyway which is why he lets Draco manage it all.

Harry has nothing to do with politics but he still earns a lot of money. And that despite the fact that Harry has mostly continued to study even after he was finished with his NEWT's. Harry by now is considered to be a Master in defence and spellcasting. Much to Hermione's and Ron's shock Harry recently also became a master on Antient rune. His mastery was achieved by creating a combination of runes with partial overlapping of them. The combination Harry had created could prevent transformations when drawn or scared onto or into the skin of someone. The downside of it is that apart from Polijuce potion, no transformation is possible, not just those done to harm the one who has it on his or her skin. The very positive upside, however, is that a werewolf transformation is included in that. Remus was the first to have it scratched into his skin in a way to leave it as a scar and hasn't transformed into a werewolf again. He even can do a romantic stroll in the moonlight with his wife Tonks. The two also have a second child by now.

With the help of many of Merlin's old books and the knowledge, Harry gained from others he by now wrote a few books himself and is selling those very successfully. All the defence books used at Hogwarts are from him, but not only those. The upper-year Carms and lower-year Transfiguration books along with the book for runes 'Combining and fusing runes with each other', which is something that wasn't done in centuries and the knowledge about it had been lost until Harry found something about it in Merlin's vault, is from him. Along with that, Harry has written a handbook for Muggle-born students that start their life in the wizarding world. The also very popular book 'a muggle guide in pureblood customs' is written by his mother in law though and goes into the more political and traditional interactions between purebloods while Harry's only covers the more noticeable differences that most muggle-born will notice within a few months of Hogwarts. Harry's guide to blend into the muggle world is a hit with the Auror department though.

Blaize, who is the godfather of Harry's youngest child Scorpious Severus, Is working in the Ministry as the head of the foreign affairs department, and of course one of the many people Draco sees regularly at his work. Ron is the head of the Aouror department, and luckily only visited by Draco on very rare occasions. Usually to file a complaint about a rather aggressive fan of Harry that thinks she can steal Draco's husband from him, though they obviously are always unable to succeed and eventually get threatened by Ron to stay away from his friend or get locked up for whatever infractions Ron can find, including the stalking which Hermione also ensured to be illegal.

There is one more thing that makes Harry particularly happy right now. And that is the fact that Draco had told him just the previous night that Harry forgot to cast the contraception charm one time too many in his excitement to be intimate with his husband. Draco is expecting again, though this time he secretly is very pleased with it. He has dreaded the day that Eileen leaves because it's the start of all of their babies going away. One by one every year from now on. At least now he'll have another child to dote on when the oldest three are gone. Both parents also secretly decide to forget it a few more times after this one is born. Just to ensure he or she won't grow up alone when his or her siblings are at Hogwarts. And while neither says it, both can feel that the other feels the same way. Happy about this baby and looking forward to number five after this one already.

They just enter the platform and Eileen runs off towards some others that came only to see her off. "Rose!" She cries out to the two years younger girl that was born a month after Scorpius and is the daughter of Ron and Hermione. "James said I'll be in Hufflepuff! I don't want to be in Hufflepuff. James always says it's for the cast-offs that aren't courageous, smart or brave enough for the others and I don't want to end up in the same house as James."

"What's that supposed to mean?" James complains right away before Rose or her parents can say anything.

"That you are a stupid scardy-cat that wouldn't get a hint if it hits him in the face! Never mind be sneaky himself!" Eileen grins teasingly.

"He's just a silly kid," Rose replies despite being younger than him.

"He's older than you so don't say that!" Eileen frowns. She might bicker with James constantly but still, whenever anyone else says just one wrong word about or towards him, she gets ferociously protective.

Scorpius rolls his eyes saying, "You'll be a Slytherin and James a Gryffindor so no worries for either of you!"

"I agree." Harry grins teasingly and tickles both his oldest two in the side. "You two bickering monsters are not kind or caring enough for Hufflepuff."

Both smack him a bit and grin at their dad. Eileen might have needed some time to get used to him, after not seeing him for almost an entire year, but within less then a week Harry became her favourite to play with. He was great for roughhousing and both of them, Harry and his baby girl have a sense for adventures which probably was the reason Eileen could walk almost flawlessly at the age of about one year, a little before that even. Draco is also close to all of his children and the three love to cuddle with him and he has always been the one to read them a good night story and tug them in. Draco is the calm that helps to balance Harry's wilder nature out.

Draco can't help but smile at their antics while he shakes hands with Ron and Hermione as well as Molly and Arthur who are like additional parents in law to him. The kids even consider them their grandparents.

"Slytherin would be fine. But what if the hat really wants to get me stuck in Hufflepuff. I don't want to be a Hufflepuff. Yellow does nothing for me!" Eileen complains. "I mean it's bad enough that I'll have to let that ugly hat touch my head but a yellow tie?"

"Darling," Harry chuckles, "Just tell the hat you don't want to go there. I'm not sure he'll like the reason but he can be reasoned with. At least on occasion."

"Are you sure?" She asks uncertainly.

"He was pretty reasonable when I begged him not to let me end up with that stuck up boy that got send to the snake pit before it was my turn," Harry explains. "Wanted to put me into the same dorm room first."

"You, a Slytherin?" Eileen asks shocked.

"Immposible!" James gasps.

"I believe it." Scorpius shrugs.

"And it's true." Harry insists.

"And who was that stuck up boy?" James wants to know, knowing some of Draco's old classmates. He presumes that it might have been Blaize who can be nearly as bad as Draco.

"Your father of course." Harry grins.

"So you begged the hat to not send you into Slytherin so you wouldn't have to share a room with him and then you go and marry him and share a room with him every night anyway?" Eileen asks "Are you stupid?"

"Hey!" Harry complains. "I'm not stupid. I just couldn't predict in our first year that your father would grow up to be this drop-dead gorgeous!"

"And what will you do when he's old and wrinkly? Go back to meet for midnight duels?" Scorpius asks worriedly.

Harry eyes him for a moment. Ron had told them many of the old stories. Especially in the last few months that lead up to Eileen's first year at the school. Clearly Scorpius is worried. To calm him Harry takes Draco's hand and kisses the ring he wears. they always wear their wedding ring on one hand and the one from Merlin's vault on the other hand. Harry now kisses the ring from Merlin's vault on Draco's ring finger saying. "Your father is bound to be drop-dead gorgeous even with wrinkles. Which is why I'm so happy that he's stuck with me for eternity."

"You only did a muggle wedding." Scorpius points out. "You can divorce." Scorpius had worried about it on occasion. his parents are very different and while they don#t fight often, he knows that it could change easily due to their differences. The stories about their past fights only seemed to prove it and worried him further.

"We might have done one of those in this life, but we did an everlasting one in our last one." Harry explains, "Those rings we wear are proving it. Trust me a little. Your father and I, we might tease each other and maybe even fight on occasion, but we'll always love one another and will never leave the other."

Severus and Narcissa also arrive together with their children Lily and Phineas, the later named after one of the few people in the Black family tree that had supported muggle rights.

Now that they are there Harry lets Eileen complain about the ugly hat again and listens to her questions to her grandfather Severus to find out if that ugly thing really can be reasoned with. When it is nearly time for the kids to leave Harry eyes Draco questioningly and he nods giving him the sign that it's okay that he'll tell them instead of letting Draco do it. Harry just smiles at Eileen saying, "Just be glad you can get away from your father for a few months. I wish I could!"

"I thought you're so in love!" Scorpius frowns a bit worried again.

"Oh, I am." Harry grins, "But your Nana Narcissa, who was there when Draco was pregnant with your brother, will confirm to you that your father will need a lot of pampering to stay in a somewhat good mood and that he'll constantly complain about all that pampering at the same time now that he's expecting again."

"Boys, just remember that you can floo to us whenever your father is getting into one of his moods. Let your dad deal with him and run for the hills when it happens. Trust me, there is nothing that can calm him and he starts to hex everything in sight." Narcissa warns.

"Good thing I'm as good as gone." Eileen grins before she looks at Lily and Phineas saying, "But at least you'll finally get a niece or nephew that is actually younger than you two!"

Harry just grins and moves an arm around Draco who grumbles that he is not that unreasonable and would never hex his children while Narcissa gives her grandsons a few more helpful pointers on what to avoid saying or what signs to look out for to take cover or run to her. Severus just asks Harry grinning if he has to teach him that handy little spell again since he clearly has forgotten how to use it. Harry doesn't mind the teasing and just enjoyed the happy atmosphere until he hs to wave after the train and won't see his baby girl for a while.

Narcissa and Severus offer to take the boys with them to give the happy couple some time to celebrate their next child arrival and Harry and Draco happily accept and return home where they just sit on the couch and look into the eyes of each other. Neither needs to say anything and both are just happy that life is finally the way they always wanted it.
