Chapter 301: The Annihilation Zerg Officially Descends

"You can't leave!"

The seven Lantern leaders immediately blocked Allen, who was about to slip away.

"What are you doing? You can't just bully a poor little boy like me."

Allen wrapped his arms around his chest, and with that pink princess dress, he looked as perverted as one could possibly imagine.

Fighting the urge to gag at the discomfort, they racked their brains trying to make him stay.

Getting into trouble with the Spartan Empire and just patting his butt and walking away? When enemies come knocking later, they'd have no one to blame but themselves.

So, they couldn't let Allen go. After all, there's always a culprit behind every grievance.

"Allen, I really think you're the right one to lead the Seven Lantern Corps."

Sinestro said this blatant lie with a straight face—though that was mostly because his skin was red anyway.

Abin Sur quickly chimed in, "That's right. After the Zerg War, we all recognize your leadership."

"Yes, yes! Without your command, we'd just be a disorganized mess," Gillian added, piling on the flattery.

After a few words, Allen's cheeks turned pink, and he shyly said, "I'm not as great as you say~ Heeheehee…"

He then covered his face with both hands, letting out a giddy and neurotic giggle.

Hiss…

So his weakness is compliments?

And he actually bought it.

"Leader Allen, please keep leading us," Blue Lady hurried to add.

Saint Walker and Larfleeze, meanwhile, stayed silent. The former was bound by a monk's code that forbade lying; the latter, every time he saw Allen's face, was haunted by the memory of it being run over three times by a car—he wished him dead every second.

"Sorry!"

Allen lowered his hands and resumed a solemn expression. "No matter how much you praise me, I won't agree."

"..."

Everyone was speechless.

So all that shy act—was just that, an act?

"You can't be so heartless!"

Gillian stepped forward anxiously and grabbed Allen's arm. "Why not?" she asked.

Allen blinked innocently, casually asking in return, "Give me one good reason to keep being the leader?"

In the original storyline, the Zerg didn't exist at all.

So Allen's plan was to clean up the mess and leave, to keep the crisis from affecting the human world.

He wasn't sure whether the Zerg element in this timeline had altered the future events, so to play it safe, he acted decisively.

As for the Spartan Empire, there was no way they'd conquer the entire universe. In the original Marvel Universe, for some reason, they'd always holed up around the Behemoth Ring.

Allen had no interest in meddling further.

"Because…"

Gillian couldn't think of a good reason on the spot. Her eyes darted around as she wracked her brain for something to say.

"Because you're handsome."

It was a last-minute inspiration—and even she felt ridiculous saying it.

The only reason she could bring herself to say something so shameless was that she'd seen Allen being a vain show-off more than once.

"Really?"

Allen's face lit up like he'd finally met a kindred spirit. He had to ask again to be sure.

"Really."

Sensing it worked, Gillian pressed her advantage. "From the first moment I saw you, I was captivated by your godlike beauty. Honestly—don't laugh—I mean it."

"I won't laugh. Go on, I love hearing it." Allen nodded enthusiastically, a hopeful expression on his face.

"Whenever I don't see you for a day, I feel physically unwell. I wish you could stay within my sight every single moment."

Yeah, right.

Gillian mentally added that immediately.

"You say things like that, and it makes me blush~"

Allen grinned from ear to ear, his smile betraying how delighted he was.

"Our leader is just too handsome. Without you, the Lantern Corps loses its shine."

"I can't even imagine what life would be like without you."

"Yeah, yeah! Just breathing the same air as our leader is the happiest moment of my life."

"..."

The Violet Lantern Corps had no qualms about shamelessly spewing flattery.

Meanwhile, the other corps caught on and joined in, all praising Allen's looks as enthusiastically as they could.

Drowning in waves of admiration, Allen finally caved.

With a reluctant expression, he agreed to keep being the leader.

Kree Empire – One of the Radar Monitoring Bases Within Its Territory

Suddenly, an urgent alarm blared through the facility.

"Warning: Unusual spatial fluctuation detected. Coordinates 232,933."

These radar monitoring bases were established to prevent the Spartan Empire from using wormhole-jumping tech to sneak elite troops deep into Kree territory.

"Pull up visuals from the radio telescope satellites near that coordinate," the commander ordered the operators.

The screen lit up, and what appeared was a dimensional passage, vast and black as a heavenly chasm.

Unlike space rifts, dimensional passages resembled spatial wormholes and allowed stable transit.

In fact, wormhole technology had long been developed—many advanced civilizations had already successfully researched and mastered it.

However, it consumed enormous energy to activate a wormhole, so usage was generally limited to small-scale applications.

The most common examples were the single-user wormhole teleportation tech of the Green and Yellow Lantern Corps.

But stargates were different—unlike wormholes, they formed a network, composed of multiple nodes to create stable, more economical pathways.

Dimensional passages, however, were a higher-tier technology—so advanced that even the mighty Spartan Empire had failed to study them deeply.

The Zerg's version of dimensional passage tech was, frankly, amateurish at best. They needed precise coordinates and guidance signals, or they couldn't reach their intended destinations.

That said, there was one civilization that had truly mastered dimensional technology—

The Watchers.

A mysterious species that observed the multiverse and multidimensional domains.

They never interfered in worldly affairs. Their sole duty was to observe.

In the void of space, a faint blue shimmer appeared out of nowhere.

Moments later, beams of blue light converged at the shimmer's location, revealing a massive fleet in full display.

"What civilization is this?"

Before the commander could make out the details, the screen went black.

That scene sent chills down everyone's spine.

The radio telescope satellite was positioned at least millions of light-years away—yet the unknown fleet instantly detected the surveillance and destroyed it with advanced technology.

That alone proved the enemy's tech far surpassed that of the Kree Empire.

"Report this immediately."

The footage was uploaded to the empire's core database.

The Supreme Intelligence quickly analyzed the data and concluded that the unknown fleet matched the "Insectoids" that had appeared once before. The difference was—this time, they were fully prepared.

The Kree shared the intel with the other interstellar empires, hoping to face this crisis together.

But once the detailed files reached the Shi'ar Empire and the Skrulls, they were overwhelmed with dread.

First came the Spartan Empire. Now, a mysterious and advanced alien force—things couldn't get any worse.

Even deploying their full militaries wouldn't be enough to deal with just the Spartan Empire.

After several rounds of deliberation, they decided to try and invite the Spartan Empire to help fight the Annihilation Zerg.

However, the new king, Bier, flatly refused. He didn't believe a word of it and decisively rejected the request.
