From its days as an Elekid, through its evolution to Electabuzz, and now as Electivire, it had endured countless training sessions where it poured out its will and displayed its ideals through painful dedication.

With every burst of determination and every declaration of its ideals, the bond between Electivire and Zekrom's power grew stronger.

The fusion progress had been steadily climbing.

The final evolution caused the progress to skyrocket, allowing Electivire to initially master the power of "mega-level voltage."

During the evolutionary process, the highly fused divine power completely transformed Electivire's life form.

It had evolved from 'it' to 'he' - gaining true consciousness and identity.

"It is Zekrom's ideal force that shaped Electivire," calyrex observed as he approached slowly on his black steed, Spectrier, looking at Electivire with genuine appreciation in his eyes.

"But it was also the will that he demonstrated that created resonance with Zekrom."

Besides Electivire, how many people or Pokémon could achieve such a feat?

Those with this potential are often called "heroes."

It cannot be denied that circumstances create heroes.

Without the power of ideals, Electivire could never have reached such heights.

But being able to seize this opportunity was entirely his own strength of character.

Roy smiled warmly and spoke from the heart: "Well, although this guy can be a bit dense sometimes, when it comes to hard work, I really haven't seen anyone who surpasses him."

Electivire scratched his head in confusion. "Huh? Where exactly am I dense?"

By the time he finished speaking, Calyrex had already arrived before Roy on his dark horse.

Since the legendary Pokémon had already shown goodwill through his respectful behavior, Roy felt less nervous than before and asked: "Your Majesty Calyrex, the reason for your visit today is...?"

"I have come for you," Calyrex stated, his gaze fixed on Roy.

Afterward, he dismounted from Spectrier and offered Roy a knight's bow.

"At the same time, I would like to apologize for examining your past without your permission."

"Well, I had suspected as much," Roy replied, his scalp tingling as he murmured, "Although I guessed it, it's still rather unsettling..."

It wasn't difficult for Roy to deduce this from Calyrex's familiarity with both himself and Electivire, combined with the legendary Pokémon's prophetic abilities.

The sensation of having one's past completely exposed...

How to describe this feeling...

It was probably like having a computer hard drive completely accessible to someone else.

Roy felt deeply uncomfortable.

Moreover, didn't this mean that his exchanges of mysterious items and energy cubes from the system had also been discovered?

Roy studied Calyrex carefully. The legendary Pokémon showed no unusual reactions - had he not noticed, or was he simply uninterested?

"I am terribly sorry," Calyrex apologized once again with genuine sincerity.

"I do not enjoy using such power. It's just... you are a very special existence."

"Special?" Roy frowned. "What do you mean by that?"

Calyrex made no attempt to hide anything: "You carry the power of gods within you, and in my foresight, your future appears completely blank."

The power of gods... Roy nodded in understanding. Mew had said the same thing when they first met. He had to admit that the divine powers he had encountered were indeed more than just a little significant.

His Z-Ring alone contained cellular material from both Necrozma and Eternatus.

"My future is blank?" Roy asked curiously. "Are other people's futures fixed then?"

He strongly disliked the idea of fate determining everything.

Calyrex shook his head. "No, everyone's future is changeable. The so-called 'inevitable events' only occur because unshakeable 'causes' have already been established in the past."

If there is a cause, there must be an effect - Roy understood this principle.

"What about a blank future?"

"Unpredictable," Calyrex replied.

Roy wasn't sure if it was his imagination, but he thought he saw Calyrex display a slight smile.

"Or perhaps... a variable."

A variable?

Was this variability due to him being a time traveler, or because of the system's existence?

Roy became lost in thought.

Seeing this, Calyrex climbed back onto Spectrier and extended an invitation to Roy.

"To express my apologies, please visit my palace, and I will provide you with satisfactory compensation."

Roy didn't refuse.

After all, how could anyone turn down such a generous offer that came to his door?

Wait - it couldn't really be called taking advantage, since Calyrex had indeed invaded his privacy by examining his past.

Think of it as damages compensation... Unlike his previous opportunistic encounters, Roy felt justified in accepting this time.

Led by Calyrex, Roy rode Metagross to the Crown Temple.

Fewer than ten people had ever visited this palace, and everyone who entered had been filled with apprehension and reverence at meeting a 'God.'

Roy's attitude was very casual, as if he were simply visiting a friend's house.

This was the first time Glastrier, who guarded the entrance, had encountered such a "relaxed" human.

With his rough and proud personality, he couldn't help but want to kick this human.

However, as soon as this thought arose, Calyrex sent a warning telepathically, causing Glastrier's mind to suddenly ache.

"Be quiet."

Glastrier pawed the ground reluctantly.

Leaving his two steeds to guard the entrance, Calyrex led Roy into the temple.

Strictly speaking, the Crown Temple was also a ruin.

Logically, it should have been extremely ancient.

But in recent years, the Pokémon League had paid tribute to this legendary king. There were many signs of renovation throughout the palace, and it lacked no modern conveniences.

Roy sat in a chair within the hall, facing the majestic crowned king upon his throne.

"What is your purpose in coming to this snowfield?" Calyrex inquired.

He had only glimpsed Roy's 'past,' like watching a movie with Roy as the protagonist, unable to fully predict this human's thoughts.

"I can fulfill all your needs and provide you with satisfactory compensation."

The so-called compensation was actually just Calyrex's gracious words.

Although he was gentle and benevolent, not every human could receive such exceptional treatment.

The 'cause' of the divine catastrophe had been planted in the past - it could not be changed and would inevitably occur in the future.

Calyrex chose not to tell Roy about the catastrophe.

He meant no harm, but felt that the current Roy hadn't reached the level where he could bear such tremendous pressure. Knowing would only add to his troubles.

But this was merely a matter of time.

The catastrophe would affect all life on Earth - every human and Pokémon would have to face it, and Roy was no exception.

Calyrex believed that what he needed to do was cultivate this "variable," allowing this "variable" to grow larger and more significant.

Mew probably thought the same way, which was likely why he had chosen Roy as a divine messenger.

...Probably so, anyway.

Thinking of Mew's unpredictable personality, Calyrex suddenly felt less confident.

"My goals in coming to the Crown Tundra are..." Roy laid out his original plan completely.

He had four objectives in total.

First was mastering Dynamax, which he had already accomplished.

Second was helping Electabuzz evolve through the Electric Titan's power, which had also been successful.

Third was selecting excellent pseudo-legendary Pokémon, preferably those skilled at flying.

Fourth was making contact with Articuno... Roy had no previous connections with the legendary bird family.

Well, Mew → the Regi trio → the legendary beasts → the legendary birds - this was Roy's networking roadmap. With connections to the legendary birds, perhaps he could even meet Lugia in the future.

Now he had an even better opportunity with Calyrex.

"Articuno?" Calyrex pondered for a moment, then nodded. "His power would indeed complement your Ninetales very well."

Exactly.

Roy's goal in contacting Articuno was to gain assistance with his power and resolve the side effects of Ninetales' Snow Cloak ability.

And to go even further!

If the Ice Titan's power had only a 30-40% compatibility with Ninetales...

Then Articuno's power, dwelling here in the Crown Tundra, would match Ninetales by at least 50%.
