Because of the prestige held by the guardian deities, Roy could rely on his status as a "noble person," and there weren't many Pokemon who would dare act recklessly around him.

That being said, there were still some Pokemon in a more severe state of ferocity.

Like the Trumbeak flock currently in front of Roy and Lucario.

In Roy's understanding, Trumbeak was a Pokemon resembling a common woodpecker. The difference was that Trumbeak had a small red bow tie around its neck, which looked quite charming.

Combined with Trumbeak's predominantly black body with only its face and neck being white, it looked like it was wearing a formal suit.

It appeared quite gentlemanly.

However, the Trumbeak that had turned violent before him obviously didn't belong in the "gentleman" category.

The originally long and neat beak, which was typically used as a precise tool for pecking, was now spread wide open, exposing the small, densely packed fangs inside.

Combined with those fierce gazes, when they stared at you, it seemed as if they wanted to tear a chunk of flesh right off your body.

The small red bow tie was also tattered and torn, suggesting they had fought numerous battles before encountering Roy and his team.

It would be manageable if there were only one or two, but what Roy and his companions were currently facing was an entire Trumbeak flock.

It looked like there were about a dozen of them, and because they were positioned among the trees, their numbers appeared even more intimidating.

Roy didn't panic. He retrieved several Poke Balls from his pocket and held them ready in his hands.

Just as the leading Trumbeak let out a screech and swooped down toward Lucario, Roy quickly threw out the Poke Balls in his hand.

The Poke Balls opened upon landing, and several Pokemon of varying heights and builds appeared instantly.

"Blastoise, use Rain Dance and Water Gun!"

Blastoise nodded in acknowledgment. The energy in his body quickly concentrated toward his back before shooting out from his cannons as Hydro Pump.

Blastoise's attack speed was much faster than Trumbeak's diving speed.

Not to mention that Blastoise was positioned on the ground, attacking the Trumbeak who were diving straight down from the sky above.

The two Hydro Pump streams were perfectly accurate, hitting exactly where intended.

While Hydro Pump's attack power wasn't particularly devastating, it was more than sufficient to knock the ferocious Trumbeak down from the air one by one.

However, for Blastoise, completing this first step was already quite enough.

Ninetales swished her tails, still upset that Blastoise had told Roy about her fondness for watching soap operas.

Hmph.

Ninetales turned her head away proudly, refusing to even look at Blastoise, leaving only the confused turtle scratching his head.

However, Roy's command naturally didn't falter.

Ninetales' white form appeared like an angel descending through the blizzard. Her beautiful appearance naturally charmed many of the Trumbeak, causing them to falter in the intense wind and snowfall, losing their sense of direction.

Blizzard!

A few remaining Trumbeak let out defiant cries before rapidly flying toward Lucario, attacking with their beaks.

Growl followed by Pluck!

Having constantly faced appearance-based critical hits from Ninetales, along with the bonus effects of her natural charm, Lucario had developed considerable resistance to these so-called cute, deceptive tactics.

Such pale imitations meant nothing!

No Pokemon could match our adorable Ninetales!

Lucario sidestepped and swiftly dodged the attacking Trumbeak. Before the bird Pokemon could halt its momentum, Lucario's palm struck down rapidly.

Rock Smash!

After all, Trumbeak wasn't a Pokemon known for strong defense. Taking into account the rules of Alola's spiritual realm, Lucario had also moderated his Rock Smash somewhat.

But it was still more than sufficient for dealing with Trumbeak.

The Trumbeak was slammed into the ground by Rock Smash, unable to move.

Just because these Pokemon had been affected by the ferocity didn't mean they had become completely brainless.

After realizing that the Pokemon before them were completely beyond their ability to defeat, coupled with Lucario's threats and intimidation, their numbers dwindled rapidly.

Roy nodded with satisfaction and was about to compliment his team when he noticed Ninetales return to her Poke Ball with an audible snap.

"?"

Seeing Roy looking at him questioningly, Blastoise also shook his head frantically.

It has nothing to do with me! I didn't upset her!

Roy narrowed his eyes skeptically.

However, occasional small conflicts between team members were normal and wouldn't really cause any serious damage to their relationships.

Roy had once heard about a trainer who failed to properly manage the relationship between two main Pokemon, resulting in serious setbacks to the trainer's overall strength.

One must understand that cultivating each Pokemon was never an easy task.

It could be said that every Pokemon was raised on precious resources and rare items.

It would be one thing if the trainer came from a wealthy background, but if they were from a common family, such a situation would be a devastating blow.

Of course, Roy's situation was an exception.

His Pokemon had basically all grown up together under his care, and their individual personalities were relatively well understood.

So there was a high probability that the situation that other trainer had encountered wouldn't occur with his team.

Roy figured things should be fine in a few days.

Especially since Blastoise wasn't the type to hold grudges, and Ninetales would likely calm down after a short while as well.

Nothing too serious.

Roy continued toward the beach with Blastoise and Lucario.

If it weren't for the continuation of the Island Challenge requiring them to return to their original starting location, Roy wouldn't have realized that he had walked such a long distance with his Pokemon, having almost completely entered the center of the forest.

Getting to the beach would still take quite a while.

He wondered how the other trainers were faring, and whether they had completed most of the Totem trials.

Roy, currently far away on Poni Island, had no idea what was happening elsewhere.

Because of his earlier suggestion, all the Totems except for Kommo-o had taken their followers to search the other three islands for Abomasnow.

According to reports from ocean-dwelling Pokemon and tips from Flying-types in the sky, after just a short while, Abomasnow had appeared again on the shore of Melemele Island and was rushing toward the Dead Volcano.

It had to be said that Abomasnow had chosen this position extremely well, having obviously done his homework beforehand.

The Dead Volcano was located in the southeast of Melemele Island, adjacent to the Melemele Sea.

The Dead Volcano was a location that was easy to defend but difficult to attack. Combined with Abomasnow's arsenal of attacking moves, it was truly an excellent plan for delaying pursuers.

In other words, the terrain was perfectly suited for Abomasnow to escape when the situation turned unfavorable.

However, this time, because of Roy's reminder, when the Totems had allocated their forces, they had deliberately chosen not to concentrate most of their combat power on Melemele Island.

Instead, they had separated into smaller groups, with team leaders taking them to Melemele Island as a diversion.

Their main forces were searching the hidden locations on the other three islands.

This time, their target was no longer Abomasnow, but Arman himself!
