"OPERATION - UNITY OF THOUGHT"
Darken Mysterius had reached a crucial point of the proceedings, even as he and Itvasme had reached the drawing board, where the above words were written in centred, bold lettering…
The Bettering… of the World. This appeared to be the goal, towards which Darken was aiming, and the method, he appeared to be claiming, was through Uniting People's Thoughts in some way…?
Most people would have gone straight for explanation. However, Darken understood that his primary objective was to first understand, and to see if there was a possibility of partnership with the Dark Rizzard Alliance.
"As you can see, [Operation - Unity of Thought] aims to Change the System, and to Change the Rules of the game - ultimately on a worldwide scale, by changing the current nature and distribution of Thought Energy, and in the process, People's beliefs and Reality would also naturally adapt.
"This new Reality of course would not be transforming people into robots all believing the same thing and nothing else… [that would be a topic for not just another chapter, but possibly another book!] -But!"
… It would aim to unite people together with a stronger, accumulated 'Thought Energy' that would naturally promote collaboration, seeing Life as a Positive-Sum Game - as opposed to competition - the defeatist Zero-Sum Game which many currently accept."
"…And I imagine that right now, currently, you are wondering - all well and good, Darken, but what is the benefit of doing this? What are you trying to get at?"
"That's a great question." Darken answered his own question in order to hurry along the plot.
"The idea is that this transforming of Reality from a Zero-Sum-Game to a Positive-Sum one, would lead to higher potential benefits for *everyone* involved - and particularly those that would act… 'optimally' in the system."
"No longer would you be limited in the game by 'whatever you can somehow manage to get or do for yourself' - instead, the ceiling of the potential benefits would be greatly increased, due to the naturally exponential power of mutual collaboration…"
It all sounded great in theory. But was it actually possible?
"…How?"
"The System likely wouldn't Change overnight. And the Dark Rizzards - or people that share their similar views - would no doubt continue to act as they see fit, so long as People believe that Life is a Zero-Sum Game."
Darken paused, to let the weight of the words sink in.
Many People did… terrible, practical things, not because they wanted to, but because they believed it was… necessary.
"The real question, though, is this…"
"Itvasme… What do you think? Would you be willing to collaborate, to shape Thought - the power of Thought as Energy - to make this… Reality?"
"A Reality, which naturally favours and rewards collaboration, mutual learning, and excellence..."
"And at the same time…"
And here, Darken looked at Itvasme, meeting her eyes.
"We could also make the World… Better."
