Chapter 331: Dumbledore's Unprecedented Power
Dumbledore was never someone who sought to plunge the world into chaos.
Yet now, he suddenly realized something—
This might be the moment when his influence was at its peak.
The old pure-blood nobles who clung stubbornly to tradition, the conservative Ministry of Magic—both were now firmly under his control.
Moreover, the most influential and widely circulated newspaper in the wizarding world also belonged to his faction.
It could be said without exaggeration that Dumbledore now truly held the reins of the entire British wizarding world.
An unprecedented level of authority rested in his hands.
And yet, he did not fear repeating the mistakes of his youth or losing himself to power.
Because hanging above his head, like a Sword of Dusk, were forces far beyond Britain—
American wizards who had set foot on the moon,
and beings who had either resurrected ancient gods or inherited their names.
As for Voldemort, who might otherwise have brought devastating casualties to the wizarding world—
His followers had already been turned into Dumbledore's own assets.
Fenrir Greyback and Antonin Dolohov were the only exceptions—villains he had no intention of granting a second chance.
Arthur had already relocated all innocent people who might be affected, moving them—at least in Dumbledore's eyes—out of the battlefield and into Azkaban's protection.
Now then—
What was left for him to fear?
Even a hundred years after his death, the two immortals—Tom Riddle and Harry Potter—would inherit his name and his will.
They would forever guard the land he loved.
And even if time eventually corrupted them, Hogwarts itself would remain an untouchable paradise.
"So… do we need to seal Greek mythology and its related spells again?"
Lucius Malfoy was the first to react.
As a pure-blood wizard from an ancient family, he knew very well that those so-called gods were not fictional—and that modern wizards were incomparable to them.
In ancient Greek mythology, He was the First Cause, the origin of all things in the universe.
It was He who created Chronos,
who gave birth to Aether and Chaos,
and who formed a cosmic egg within the infinite Aether—
An egg that contained the past, present, and future of the entire universe.
Thus, Greek mythology was born.
If He were to truly resurrect—
Then what of the other gods?
"Then… do we also need to seal the Time-Turner?" Arthur Weasley asked immediately.
"No," Dumbledore replied after a brief pause.
"Only the name is active. No wizard has yet developed a spell that truly invokes His authority."
"The Time-Turner, however, must indeed be sealed."
"…Very well," Arthur said solemnly.
"I'll arrange everything once I return."
"Why hasn't Dad replied yet?"
Ron lay on the grass beside the Black Lake, his voice filled with frustration after a full day of classes.
"Mr. Weasley has only just taken up the position of Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement," Harry said calmly.
"He's probably overwhelmed with Ministry affairs."
"He may not even have had time to read your letter."
"I'm even more annoyed," Harry added gloomily.
"Sirius ignored me completely."
"Does he think everything I wrote was nonsense?"
Harry picked up a stone and hurled it into the Black Lake, venting his irritation.
"Sirius might be busy taking care of his brother," Ron said.
"Maybe Regulus has just learned how to talk."
"I'm the one who should be most depressed!"
"My dad clearly has nothing to do!"
"But you didn't reply to my letter either!" Draco suddenly covered his face with both hands, looking utterly miserable.
"Isn't he busy arranging your engagement with Pansy?" Ron and Harry said in unison.
For the first time all afternoon, smiles appeared on their faces.
After all—watching drama was a universally beloved pastime.
"Ah! I don't know!"
"Did Sirius tell you?" Draco shot to his feet, his pale face instantly turning red.
"Eh—wasn't that why you were busy ignoring us before?"
Ron and Harry's smiles instantly froze.
"Not exactly…" Draco said, half pleased and half regretful.
For a brief moment, he had even considered marrying Pansy early.
When he finally came back to his senses, he found two pairs of sharp eyes staring at him—clearly unwilling to let him leave without a proper explanation.
"Well, you see—"
"You all know that Terence Higgs from our house graduated last year."
"So the Slytherin Quidditch team needed a new Seeker."
"And I've been busy with that."
Draco straightened his back, unable to hide his pride.
"I'm the new Seeker of the Slytherin team."
"Well then," Ron said after a moment of thought,
"Let me say something unpleasant first. Once the matches begin, unless you're playing Hufflepuff, don't expect me to cheer for you."
"Of course!" Draco laughed in relief.
"You sounded so serious, I thought you were about to declare war."
"Wait—what's that?" Harry suddenly pointed toward the sky.
Ron and Draco followed his gaze.
A majestic bird was circling above them.
Its eyes, beak, and talons were pale yellow.
The feathers on its head, neck, and tail were pure white, while the rest of its body was dark brown—powerful and dignified.
"It's carrying a letter!" Ron exclaimed, spotting the parchment tied to its leg.
"That's a bald eagle—the national bird of the United States," Draco said in astonishment.
"I heard the Potter family has a branch there. Could it be from them?"
"How do you even know that?" Ron frowned.
"You're talking about America, not the American wizarding world."
"You didn't know?"
"Ever since I learned about the moon landing, I've been studying countries capable of reaching the moon," Draco replied matter-of-factly.
"The United States is one of them."
"You are Mr. Arthur's son," Draco added thoughtfully.
"I wonder if becoming Head of Magical Law Enforcement will interfere with his real ambitions."
Ron frowned, clearly worried.
"I think it might actually help," Harry said.
"Once Mr. Weasley has real authority, he can amend laws directly—no more relying on backdoors like before."
At that moment, the bald eagle landed beside Harry and extended its right leg toward him.
"Is it really from the American Potters?" Ron leaned forward curiously.
"It's Sirius!"
Harry opened the letter excitedly.
The eagle suddenly nipped at Harry's hair with its beak, then shot back into the sky like a gust of wind.
Dear Harry,
Arthur, Lucius, and I have already told Dumbledore everything about your dream.
He will handle this matter personally, so you don't need to worry.
Tell Ron and Draco not to wait for replies.
Arthur and Lucius have both been extremely busy dealing with this issue.
Love,
Sirius
