Chapter 321: Visiting Shirogane's House
Moving took two hours, not too long and not too short. The moving company was not cheap, but their service quality was excellent.
If moving again in the future, hiring them would be a good option.
But who really moves house multiple times a year? It feels like only bloggers or online entertainers do that.
Crazy fans are truly terrifying. Sakurai Saki was glad he didn't debut as an idol back then.
That made him recall his part-time job days a year ago.
That morning was beautiful. While handing out flyers at the Shibuya intersection, a mature woman with curly red hair and sunglasses walked up and asked if he wanted to try being an actor, or even an idol.
Sakurai Saki accepted the business card but didn't agree. Oh right, he met that person several more times after that — that person was Ichika's current manager, Ueno Youko.
After finishing arranging the luggage, Sakurai Saki prepared to visit Shirogane Miyuki's house.
He had promised him a long time ago but was too busy at the end of the semester to make it happen.
Nino was sleeping on the sofa, her sleeping face incredibly cute.
The cuteness of a girl while sleeping really multiplies. Sakurai Saki couldn't help but lightly kiss her on the cheek.
Then, not disturbing her further, he went out and left the house.
...
Shirogane Miyuki's house was near Mita Station, quite close to Sakurai Saki's place, just a few minutes' walk and a few turns away.
Arriving below the building, Sakurai Saki called Shirogane Miyuki.
"Moshi moshi, Shirogane, are you home?"
"I'm at my part-time job, just got off and heading back now, what's up?"
"I'm planning to drop by your place, you said it last time, right? What about Kei-chan? She should be at home, right?" Sakurai Saki said while looking up, searching for Shirogane Kei's figure.
"I wish she wasn't home, but unfortunately, she is today." Shirogane Miyuki glanced at the clock in the break room, still thirty minutes until he'd get back. He tested: "How about waiting for me in front of the house for half an hour, Sakurai?"
"Why? Kei-chan's at home and you still want me to stand outside in the wind? I consider you my best friend, but this is kinda cold, don't you think?"
"Be honest, do you have any feelings for Kei-chan?"
Shirogane Miyuki had laid his cards on the table! No more pretending!
Seeing the student council gradually turning into Sakurai Saki's "hunting ground," he was extremely worried for his little sister's purity!
First it was Secretary Fujiwara, then Miko, and recently even the way Kaguya looked at Sakurai had become suspicious.
'The one who created this monster… is me!' Shirogane Miyuki was filled with regret inside.
He shouldn't have said those words back then.
Making a girl sad… wouldn't it be better to just be a scumbag?
Being vague and unclear, keeping a girl hanging without letting go?
Saying such things was truly stupid!
'It's all my fault!!'
Shirogane Miyuki held his head, his face full of regret!
His best friend used to be someone who believed in pure love, how did he end up like this!?
'If you mess with other girls, whatever, as long as it's consensual, but why the hell do you have to flirt with my little sister!?'
Sakurai: Slander, I'm innocent!!
Shirogane Miyuki grabbed his bag, ready to ride his bike home.
"I really don't have any feelings! How could I lay a hand on my best friend's little sister? I only see her as a sister!"
As soon as he finished speaking, Sakurai Saki saw a figure on the upper floor — Shirogane Kei was standing by the window, waving at him.
"No more talking, Kei-chan is coming to open the door for me."
Shirogane: "?"
He immediately dropped the phone, jumped on his bike, and pedaled with all his might!
Life-and-death speed! The battle to protect Kei-chan begins right now!
Kei! Wait for me! Your big brother's coming to save you!! Don't let that scumbag trick you!!
...
"Saki-nii, why are you here?" Shirogane Kei came downstairs and unlocked the door.
"Miyuki invited me over." Sakurai Saki smiled and said.
"Look, Saki-nii, there's an electronic lock here!" Kei introduced.
"Very secure." Sakurai Saki followed her inside.
"And this is the elevator! Oh right, we live on the 20th floor." Kei pressed the floor button.
"Miyuki said he's on his way back. Why is he still working part-time today? It's rare to have spring break, he should take a break so he doesn't overwork himself." Sakurai Saki chatted casually.
"He said working part-time is like running, if he stops, he won't get used to it anymore."
Kei recalled what her brother had said.
'Being a streamer isn't stable, who knows if we'll be broke later, so we have to save money.' That's what he said.
Kei also kept her paper delivery job every day, just to earn pocket money.
She didn't believe their dad could keep making a living on the Internet forever.
Sakurai Saki nodded, then reached his hand out in front of Kei.
"What is it?" Kei tilted her head.
"There's something on your hair… corn silk?"
"Umu, I'm making hot pot tonight, Saki-nii, do you want to eat together? Dad said he's going out drinking with some streamer friends, but I bought too much food." Kei invited him.
Her clear eyes were full of expectation, making Sakurai Saki remember Nino at home, and for a moment he didn't know what to do.
Eating for free… can he bring someone along? Probably not.
"There's someone at my house, so I probably can't stay long, sorry." Sakurai Saki said awkwardly.
Being invited to dinner by a little sister but not able to accept — what a pity.
"I see…" Kei looked a little disappointed.
While they were talking, the elevator reached the 20th floor.
"Ding dong——"
The elevator doors opened, and the two unlocked the electronic lock before entering the main door.
"Welcome to the Shirogane house!"
Kei said and handed Sakurai Saki slippers.
After changing shoes, the two began looking around the apartment layout.
"This is my brother's room, this is dad's room, and here's the kitchen…"
After the tour, Kei finally said: "And this is my room."
"Umu." Sakurai Saki hadn't even reacted when Kei opened her room door.
Huh? What is she trying to do?
Luckily, Kei only showed him how her room was arranged and didn't do anything weird.
Recently, Sakurai Saki had been "attacked" by the girls around him so much that he was genuinely terrified.
He truly only saw Kei as a little sister.
The two returned to the living room.
"Alright, Saki-nii, just sit here, I'll go finish preparing the food."
...
On the other side, Shirogane Miyuki was pedaling hard, turning what normally took half an hour into just over ten minutes — that's how panicked and determined he was to protect his little sister!
Riding the elevator up, Miyuki's heart pounded loudly.
Hopefully nothing happened yet…
He felt like a condemned prisoner walking to the execution platform, filled with anxiety inside.
The floor number on the elevator display climbed higher and higher.
"Ding dong——"
Shirogane Miyuki quickly unlocked the door, shoved it open, not even bothering to change his shoes.
"Kei!!! Sakurai!!"
"What's wrong, aniki!?" Kei's voice came from the living room.
Miyuki finally breathed a sigh of relief, but after taking a few steps, he saw Sakurai Saki holding his little sister's hand.
Kei's face was slightly flushed.
'In the end… I was still one step too late?'
