Ever since the incident between Jiang Ming and the demon woman a hundred years ago all the Mount Shushan disciples who had entered the Demon Locking Tower were slaughtered by Jiang Ming. Consequently a strict rule has been in place since then barring all disciples from entering the Demon Locking Tower. This rule has been enforced for a hundred years now.
As a Mount Shushan disciple the Drunken Sword Immortal was of course aware of this rule. Therefore since arriving at Mount Shushan he had never entered the Demon Locking Tower.
However today intoxicated and preoccupied with Li Xiaoyao's safety the Drunken Sword Immortal completely disregarded the sect's sacred rules and charged directly into the Demon Locking Tower without hesitation.
"Junior Brother you... why are you doing this..."
Sword Saint Yin Ruozhe paused at the entrance to the Demon Locking Tower. He watched the Drunken Sword Immortal disappear into the tower with a complex expression.
For the Sword Saint who had attained enlightenment he was like the vast heavenly Dao itself. Though he held a universal love for all creation deep down he viewed all beings as equal. Naturally he harbored no special feelings for anyone.
However watching the Drunken Sword Immortal disappear into the Demon Locking Tower the Sword Saint felt unexpectedly uneasy.
Saving lives within the Tower required sacrifice. Now that his junior brother had entered could it be...
Previously the Drunken Sword Immortal had told Li Xiaoyao that he himself was a peerless sword and he was not exaggerating. After entering the Demon Locking Tower the Drunken Sword Immortal moved like lightning while swiftly heading toward the lowest levels. Although he had never been inside he knew the conditions within.
The numerous demons and monsters along the way were no match for him whatsoever.
He formed a sword gesture with his fingers and swung his hand repeatedly. Countless streams of sword energy cascaded like rain. All the demons vanished beneath the sharp blade.
The Drunken Sword Immortal as a master of his time truly lived up to his reputation with the level of cultivation he displayed.
Perhaps only the Sword Saint and the Moon Worshiping Cult Leader possessed a higher level of cultivation than the Drunken Sword Immortal. He journeyed without stopping yet few demons or monsters who dared to attack him were capable of causing him to pause.
...
Alex naturally knew nothing of the dramatic events at Mount Shushan. After sending Lin Yueru away he headed alone toward the Moon Worshiping Cult headquarters.
Given the Moon Worshiping Cult's tremendous influence in Nanzhao a simple inquiry would reveal the location of the Moon Worshiping Cult's headquarters.
"Mister Alex please come in. Our leader has been awaiting your presence!" As Alex arrived at the Moon Worshiping Cult headquarters a Moon Worshiping Cultist bowed respectfully.
"Yes" he nodded slightly. It was not surprising that the Moon Worshiping Cult Leader had captured Liu Jinyuan and waited for him while anticipating his arrival.
Led by this Moon Worshiping Cultist Alex quickly passed through the Moon Worshiping Cult headquarters and arrived directly at a vast open plaza.
A massive steel ship in the square immediately caught Alex's attention.
A cursory glance revealed the ship's hull which was roughly fifteen or sixteen meters long and constructed entirely of thick steel. Though not yet fully completed its broad outlines were already taking impressive shape.
The Moon Worshiping Sect Leader was holding a blueprint and examining it carefully. Clearly the ship had been built entirely under his personal supervision.
"Mister Alex welcome! It has been so long since we last met and you are still as elegant as ever..."
Upon seeing Alex arrive the Moon Worshiping Sect Leader slowly set down the blueprint and spoke with a genuine smile. A warm welcoming smile that felt like a spring breeze.
After approaching before Alex could speak the Moon Worshiping Sect Leader pointed to the nearly completed steel ship nearby and said "Mister Alex what do you think of this ship? It is made entirely of fine steel. While it represents a significant expense once completed it will surely sail through the winds and waves."
"Leader did you capture my disciple and threaten me to come here just to show me this ship?"
Although Alex marveled at the Moon Worshiper's action-oriented approach he had seen far larger cruise ships in the real world. A steel vessel stretching over ten meters tall would not surprise him.
"Mister Alex you are wrong. I have always admired your knowledge. I happened to meet your disciple on the road so I invited him to Nanzhao as my guest."
With a serene smile the Moon Worshiper remained completely unfazed by his shameless actions. His ability to lie with impunity was truly uncanny.
"Alright there is no need to elaborate further. Since I am here can you please let my disciple go?" Alex waved his hand unwilling to engage in any grand debates with the Moon Worshiper.
"To be honest I also admire young Brother Liu Jinyuan's demeanor and knowledge. He truly deserves to be Mister Alex's disciple" the Moon Worshiper said while mentioning Liu Jinyuan.
These words were not false. In the original story Liu Jinyuan's demeanor and eloquence truly impressed many. Not just Elder Shi but also the Emperor and even the Moon Worshiping Sect Leader himself.
Alex did not respond to the Moon Worshiping Sect Leader's words. He simply observed him silently.
The Moon Worshiping Sect Leader naturally understood Alex's meaning.
After a brief silence the Moon Worshiping Sect Leader had Liu Jinyuan brought over. After the two of them had a brief reunion the Master and Disciple were finally allowed to speak. Then the Moon Worshiper let Liu Jinyuan go.
"Master I am sorry. I embarrassed you..." Seeing Alex personally come to his rescue Liu Jinyuan said with a mixture of gratitude and guilt.
"Alright go ahead. Yueru is with Elder Shi and the others. Go find her."
Alex simply patted Liu Jinyuan's shoulder and said with a reassuring smile.
"Okay I understand" he nodded. Liu Jinyuan did not try to argue but simply nodded and left the Moon Worshiping Sect's headquarters.
Liu Jinyuan knew very well that if he stayed regardless of whether or not a fight broke out between Master and Moon Worship Leader he would be of absolutely no help. So it would be better for him to leave and not become a burden.
Furthermore Liu Jinyuan would not forget Alex's ability to teleport magically.
It seemed that as long as Moon Worship Leader did not act immediately no one would be able to stop Master from leaving. With that magical spell who could possibly keep Master from leaving?
Watching Liu Jinyuan depart Alex felt a huge weight lifted from his heart. His gaze fell on Moon Worship Leader and he asked "Leader why did you invite me here?"
"It is nothing serious. Last time we sat down and discussed the principles of heaven and earth and the truth but unfortunately we did not have sufficient time. So today I wanted to continue what we left unfinished"
Moon Worship Leader said with eyes sparkling as he looked at Alex eagerly.
