"Alright, enough talking! Let's welcome our next contestant — he's coming!"
On the big screen, Grandmaster's excited voice rang out.
And with his words—
BOOM!From one of the arena tunnels came a deep tremor, as if some monstrous creature were pounding on the heavy gate.
The ground of the coliseum shook violently, making Thor instinctively spin around, his eyes narrowing.
Thor's expression grew grave. Whoever this opponent was, just that sound alone was enough to terrify.
BANG! BANG! BANG!Green fireworks burst across the arena as the crowd erupted in deafening cheers that reached the heavens.
The mysterious contender hadn't even appeared yet, but the excitement had already blown the roof off the place.
"This creature — how do I describe him? He's unique, unmatched! I feel a connection to him from the very cosmos itself! He is invincible, supreme!"
"He's the reigning champion!"
"Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome your undefeated…!"
As Grandmaster spoke, the massive gate of another tunnel began to creak open. But before it could fully rise—
BOOM!A tremendous force smashed straight through, shattering the gate to pieces.
From within burst a massive, green giant clad in armor — the Hulk.
The crowd's cheers reached their absolute peak.
Everyone went mad, roaring and chanting like crazed fans seeing their idol enter the field.
"Awesome!"
Down in the arena, Thor froze when he saw his opponent — the Hulk. Then his stunned face lit up with pure joy.
"YES!" he shouted gleefully.
Instantly, the entire arena fell silent. The crowd was dumbfounded, confused by Thor's sudden outburst.
In the VIP section, Loki's expression changed in a split second. Terrified, he turned and bolted."I need to get off this planet. Now."
Poor Loki. The trauma from Hulk's previous beating still haunted him.
"This is the so-called god who called others ants? Scared stiff by his own 'ant'?" Tony Stark couldn't resist mocking, glancing sideways at Thor.
Thor covered his face in embarrassment.
"Loki, you useless fool…"
"You all know, right?" Thor hurriedly explained to the others. "Loki may be my brother — but not by blood!"
He was desperate to distance himself from that coward.
"Hey! Hey! He's a friend of mine!"
In the arena, Thor waved up toward Grandmaster and the spectators with excitement. "We work together — he's a colleague!"
Meanwhile, Hulk roared and raised both arms high, basking in the crowd's adoration.
"Where've you been? We all thought you were dead!" Thor called out eagerly, trying to reconnect. "So much has happened since we last met!"
"I even lost my hammer! It feels like it was just yesterday — so vivid!"
"And Loki! Can you believe he's alive? He's up there — Loki! Loki, look who it is!"
…
But Hulk, lost in the cheers, didn't care at all. "No Banner. Only Hulk!"
ROAR!He charged forward, swinging his massive hammer and axe straight at Thor.
"Banner! We're friends! I don't want to hurt you!" Thor shouted while dodging the furious attacks.
But Hulk ignored him completely, continuing his relentless assault until a massive strike sent Thor flying.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!Not done yet, Hulk raised his axe high and charged again like a living tank, aiming to crush Thor into the ground.
Now truly angered, Thor yanked Mjolnir's replacement weapon — the hammer that had been lodged in the wall — and swung it as Hulk rushed in.
CRACK!Hulk was sent flying backward in an instant.
The coliseum went dead silent.
Every spectator was stunned — no one had expected this "Thunder God" to be so powerful.
"See that? That's my strength!"
In front of the viewing screen, Thor smirked proudly.
Who needed a hammer? He'd still flattened Hulk!
"Hey, big guy!"
In the arena, Thor walked toward the fallen Hulk, holding the giant's hammer in hand. "The sun's getting real low…"
He was trying to calm him down — just like Black Widow used to.
"That's right, the sun's almost down," Thor said gently, extending a hand.
Hulk blinked in confusion but reached out his own massive hand toward Thor.
"I won't hurt you anymore. No one will ever hurt you again," Thor said softly, smiling like an overly kind aunt.
The two — one giant, one god — clasped hands, gazing at each other in a strangely peaceful, almost touching moment.
Then suddenly—
"Ugh!"
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!Hulk grabbed Thor by the legs, lifted him high, and smashed him repeatedly into the ground like a ragdoll.
The floor cracked under the blows, deep pits forming with each impact.
"This is way too violent!"
Doctor Strange winced, unable to watch. "He's literally using Thor as a hammer!"
"It's not just violent — it's tragic!" Star-Lord added, jaw dropping.
So this was the "smash" the question system mentioned?
That was one hell of a smash!
Wait…
"'Just like when he smashed Loki,'" Star-Lord muttered, realization dawning. "So he's done this exact thing to Thor's brother before?"
He glanced at Thor with deep pity. What a miserable pair of siblings.
Instinctively, Star-Lord edged farther away from Dr. Banner's seat.
That man was way too dangerous.
If Hulk ever grabbed him like that… he didn't even want to imagine it.
Star-Lord made a silent vow then and there: no matter what — not even to fight Thanos or Dormammu — he'd never, ever piss off that man.
"This is cheating! A sneak attack! Totally unfair!" Thor shouted, pointing at the big screen in protest.
But no one paid him any attention.
Everyone was too absorbed in watching the incredible fight — this kind of spectacle was once-in-a-lifetime entertainment.
Who'd want to miss it?
Who could even look away?
It would've been a crime.
So Thor just stood there yelling helplessly, completely ignored.
"This is amazing!"
Loki's voice rang out suddenly — he jumped to his feet, fist pumping in pure excitement.
"Yes! That's it! That's the feeling!"
He looked like he was witnessing the greatest thing he'd ever seen — even more thrilled than the actual spectators.
Grandmaster glanced at him, puzzled. "This kid's reaction's a bit much… hasn't he seen a duel before?"
"I love this match!" Loki shouted at Grandmaster, eyes gleaming with delight.
"Thor… he's really your brother?" Doctor Strange asked in disbelief.
He distinctly remembered Thor introducing Loki earlier — though he'd never met Loki in person, the footage was unmistakable.
But now… seeing Loki cheer like that as Thor got pummeled? Strange was no longer sure.
"Look, Thor, Loki's smiling so brightly — that's a real smile," Tony said deadpan. "I've never seen him that happy before."
"He's not my real brother!" Thor shouted, exasperated. "He was adopted, okay? Adopted!"
BANG! BANG! BANG!
On-screen, the fight raged on.
Now truly enraged, Thor began trading blows with Hulk. At first, he managed to suppress him, driving Hulk back step by step.
But soon, Hulk got angry.
And when Hulk got angry — Thor immediately couldn't keep up.
In seconds, Hulk had him pinned to the ground, pounding him over and over with his fists.
The arena shook as if an earthquake had hit.
Even the audience could barely watch.
But as the beating went on, lightning suddenly flared across Thor's body — his power awakening.
One explosive punch sent Hulk flying backward.
Now both had unleashed their true strength. The real fight was about to begin.
But then—
Grandmaster suddenly pulled out a small device, pressed a button, and Thor instantly convulsed like he'd been electrocuted.
He collapsed to the ground, twitching violently.
The footage froze.
"Rigged! Total setup! This was sabotage!" Thor shouted, pointing furiously at the screen. "I was about to win! You saw it — I was about to win!"
"Obviously, you weren't," Dr. Banner said calmly. "Even if you'd shocked him with lightning, you wouldn't have won. If you'd kept pushing Hulk, he'd only get stronger — so, you'd lose."
"Banner, you're just being stubborn! Hulk could never beat me!" Thor snapped back.
"Alright, let's get back to the question," Captain America interjected, cutting off the pointless argument. "Let's summarize."
"Thor appearing on Sakaar clearly happens after Hela's arrival. By this time, Thor has already lost his hammer."
That much was certain — easy to place chronologically.
"What surprises me," Tony said thoughtfully, "is how long Banner must've been on Sakaar."
Before Hulk even appeared, the crowd was cheering wildly, fireworks were going off — he was clearly a superstar there.
And Grandmaster's introduction — 'unique,' 'supreme,' 'invincible' — all pointed to one fact:
Hulk had been the reigning champion for quite some time.
Meaning Hulk was on Sakaar before Thor ever arrived.
That much was undeniable.
"What the hell happened in the future?" Banner muttered blankly. He had no clue how he'd ended up on another planet — much less as its top gladiator.
And everyone thinking he was dead? How did that happen?
He couldn't make sense of it at all.
There weren't enough clues to figure out the full story.
The only thing left to analyze now… was Thor.
Everyone turned their focus toward him.
"Thor said Asgard was on the brink of destruction," Tony began seriously. "There are only two possible threats strong enough to make that happen: Thanos or Hela."
Thanos needed no explanation — he destroyed Asgard's ship, killed Loki, and would naturally target the Tesseract.
As for Hela, though less understood, her hatred for Odin and the fact that Asgard itself was the source of her power made it entirely plausible she would return to reclaim it.
Either of these two could put Asgard on the edge of annihilation.
The only question was — which one struck first?
"Thor, whoever attacked Asgard — I'm guessing it happened before Thanos seized the Tesseract," Captain America said after some thought.
"Exactly!" Tony nodded firmly. "Remember the ship Asgardians were on? That wasn't a warship. It was full of Asgardian families — entire households! Why?"
Thor froze at the question.
That was strange.
Asgardians didn't exactly have a tradition of space travel.
If it had been soldiers, fine — maybe on a mission. But whole families? Thor couldn't make sense of it.
"Heimdall," Thor added after thinking. "He was aboard that ship too. As Heimdall — one of the most vital officials in Asgard — he should never have left. But he did."
